Q: Age difference between you and your Chinese partner?
Just curious how this might compare to if you were dating/married to someone from your home country. (Not judging though). Also, does the "half your age plus seven" rule apply here?

I'm 80 and she's 20 and she's 21 and she's 19 and she's 23, so when you collectively combine my concubines then she's 3 years older.
Myself and the wife were born in the same year but, she is seven months older.
the half your age plus seven rule is a muslim stuff, so far i know china isnt under sharia.
Besides, im 37, she is 20

The rule you describe is in my Christian home country know as the "dirty old pig rule"
This is not me calling anyone dirty pigs, I love the taste of pork, just saying that similar way of looking at age difference exists outside of the muslim world.
Up to 10 13 years difference is ok, but would you ever show up with someone who is 20 - 30 years younger than you back home. Realistically you are her father or in some cases grandfather, how do you relate what do you have part from sex. A well educated woman would never go for that, so in these cases she is looking for sugar daddy. Would you want your daughter to be married to someone that much older??? Yea, and she is in love with you LOL.
My wife is 27 years younger than me. We have been married for over ten years and she still has problems with English. But all told we get along fine. She is a very good ping pong player and plays three or four times a week. I play golf twice a week. She is a great girl. Franck3

Again get someone close to your age/generation, what is it with the 80 year old dating 20, sick, sorry sick, under any conditons and we know it, she is too young and sees him as a daddy , sugar daddy, she does not know any better, bet she does not have a graduate degree. But it convenience for both - not love. Good luck if that s what suits you, but not right, Oh and another note being with a 20 year old at 50 , 60 or 80 will not make you 20, you are still an old guy using her naivity. Like Dariax said you are her daddy and using this situation, you would not dare back home, such young women would see you as a creep hitting on them and you know it that is why you are here, cause you could not do this at home.
3 months older - we've been together for a year and I only planned a 2 year stay. I'm 24 living and working in a city. I guess in my case I'm not a 'sugar daddy' or some scrounger living in some poor ass village or even a lonely old ugly white dude.
I'm reflecting on all these answers of 6yrs 8yrs 10yrs gap and one can't help to think and be a little sick inside.
The amount of souless deadbeats who come to Asia (China) with these young naiive Chinese girl balancing on their balls are living it up, demoralizing social nature. Hell some of them might even dismiss it as their sole intention by coming here but anyone over the age of 40 planning a long term stay is just fuc**ng with you.

I just turned 65, i appear to be around 45,Been in China for 3 1/2 years. I'v had a few serious relationships that were good till the parents said no or the girls OCD was just unbearable. I do plan to stay here for good, i'm pretty fit and enjoy myself, the age doesn't seem to matter to the girls i meet, i don't have alot of money and they now it, so we just keep on keepin on
I think the one of most important things between couples is communication. If the communication between you and your young partner goes well, I don’t see lots of problems with this combination.
