Q: Any recommendation for the best pizza place in Shanghai?

I'd like to know what's the best pizza you've tried here, pls consider not only taste but also atmosphere, decoration, etc.

Thanks

Alsace Bistro in Pudong. It's tiny, has only about 6 tables. The menu is simple, but the pizza is fantastic. It's a relaxed place, it's not for a first date... the chef is French and they also have delicious cake (not the Chinese cream kind)

LAR:

urbanina,

Thanks for mentioning the pizza place! * How much is a pizza there? "it's not for a first date." Okay, I have a first date with a gal next Friday who lives in Pudong. * Can you recommend a good first date place for that area..or the general surrounding area? (I'll be coming from out of town.) Thank you!

Hmmm, I think the pizza there is about 60-80RMB.

For a date, it depends what she likes, but maybe take her to Lujiazui - there's lots of restaurants to choose from, different price ranges (mostly expensive, but not all). You can walk along the riverfront and look across at the Bund all lit up, or have a cocktail at the top of one of the towers.

Otherwise for something further out in Pudong, go to Thumb Plaza, not very glamorous but there's a choice of restaurants.

If I were you I'd have a look on the www.smartshanghai.com website, it lists pretty much all of Shanghai's restaurants and bars, so even someone from out of town can make a good choice!

Hope your date goes well!!

A:I had a similar experience in HK. If I recall correctly, before or at the Z visa application, I had to submit ME from the ordinary HK clinic, where I explained why I need ME and I asked them to examine only necessary things (I don't remember the cost ...), and then ... I got Z stamp and when back in China, I had to complete another RP ME, which was on the employer, i.e. included in the Contract ...We've never discussed refund of payment for HK ME with my employer. Year 2013 ...I'd say, that is a regular thingy embassies around the world require, before issuing visas for LT stay in the country. "Vladimir Vladimiro-Witch ras-Putin" (LOL@your pronunciation ..) demands the same thingy before granting LT stay in Ruski.  ... Haa, 2013 was the Snowden's year. I was in Kowloon at the time of his landing .. with all these files ... I'm-Still-in-LMAO-State ... Cost for the ME in HK was around HK$ 2000/200 EUR, and ME was kind of swift, quicker and way shorter than on the mainland ... -- icnif77
