Q: Anyone here make their own drinks at home?

In light of the poor quality of Chinese drinks around, how many of you have resorted to making their own cocktails or drinks at home?

I do.  I enjoy a drink each afternoon prior to dinner with my GF.  And they are not hard to do for me, and she loves that special moment between both of us.  One note, I have never being totally drunk in my life, but I do enjoy one now and then.

I also do make my own wine from grapes, and fruit flavor liquors at around 25 % content by volume.  Right now I have six ready, strawberry, banana, lemon, pineapple, cranberry and orange.  Next year I will try using cantaloupe and see how it comes out.

And if I had space, I would even brew my own beer...........

I have a beer once in awhile, can't find much I want to drink here, only had a beer buzz once. I drink Baileys once in awhile, not that easy to find. I looked up the recipe and thought I'd make some, can't get the ingredients. I'd make Mia Tias if I could find pineapple juice, no luck so far.

Ted, you must be looking in the wrong places, you can get Baileys and Kahlua here in Nanning even at 7-11 or small convenience stores.  And for pineapple juice, it does come in boxes (cartoons) like the milk, also very common.

TedDBayer:

I've never seen a 7-11 store here., nothing close, I have to take the bus. Thanks been looking at bottles and cans for pineapple juice.

What do you mean "resorted" to?

I've always made cocktails at home no matter where I lived.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
