I take it from your lastest question ( changing internship) that you have taken a job here.

I had a look on the web and the company don't seem to have a website. The only reference I could find was in a company finder, and it stated there they last logged in to the site in 2007.  Or maybe I am doing something wrong.

Anyway, going by the name I have to assume this is a Chinese company.

They say they import crystals from Europe and Egypt and assemble them into chandeliers for export.

I can't comment on what they are like to work for of course, but the thing you have to make sure of is that they have a license to employ foreigners.  I am assuming you are not Chinese.

If they have the license, they will be fine. If they don't have a license you will end up looking over your shoulder all the time.

Even when legally working in Chinese manufacturing, for a company licensed to employ you, you are still going to feel a little on edge. Because basically, they can sack you at any time and that messes up your resident permit big time.

This is the advantage of being a teacher in China compared to other professions: it's a lot easier to get another job.

If you are doing anything other than teaching, your status here is a lot more precarious.

It's  not impossible to get non teaching jobs of course, I know people who have. But it tends to come down to contacts rather than adverts.

But remember, internships are not long term, by definition.

Not me but my friend works as an international trader for Louvre International Furnitures Foshan which is the same company basically, they like to use the names of famous French landmarks for their different branches.

She doesn't seem very happy but then again she is Chinese with a local salary, maybe Foreigners get better treatments for the sake of face.
