After the incident with Mr. Diver are foreigners even allowed to dive in the oceans in China anymore? Not sure if you've seen the story on t..v. or read about it yet. So I'll try my best to relay the story for all of you. The foreigner yes he was an American got a boat and went searching for treasures in China. He had discovered millions of dollars worth of treasure. He made tons of money only problem is China claimed that the treasures were rightfully theirs and wanted them back. After this does anybody know if foreigners are allowed to dive anymore?
I have a friend who went diving somewhere near Shanghai a few months ago.
Why don't you try and find out. Maybe discover a new species of shark or something.

sometimes you ask questions that there is no need to answer, like the only purpose for asking it was to get 2 more points. And I am not trying to offend you, just expressing my views. You are free to post as you wish, but do many of us a favor, post questions that do exercise our brain cells.
In China, just like any other country with ocean on its borders, claims territorial jurisdiction over some of the ocean waters. Some claim 3 miles, some as many a 200 miles.
Find a treasure diving here, or in USA, or in Brazil or anywhere, and the local Government will want to keep all, or at least part of it. Try to be sneaky and you get in trouble.
I went to BeiHai last summer, it was a clear day, no waves, very calm with no wind. I was doing some swimming accross from the Beach Hotel, maybe 75 meters from shore, when I saw something shinnig below me with the morning sun. Dove, and found me a nice gold ring with a dragon carved, couple of rubis for eyes. No one stopped me, no one chased me, and I do wear it once in a while.
Now, if I had found a ship full of gold ingots, silver coins or antique ceramic pots from thousands of year ago, and try to leave China with the loot, of course I will be stopped, just like I would in any other country.
Cappiche ?
Yes if you go near the ocean they shoot you with a" Laser"
DaBen:
Aren't they putting lasers on the backs of sharks so they don't even have to waste the time patrolling the beaches for foreign divers?
