I sometimes forget how good I have it in China being able to smoke wherever I want, whenever I want and as much as I want.
Now I am stuck here in Politically Correct Melbourne and I can't even smoke in my own hotel room, let alone anywhere else in this city. I have to go down 12 floors to the front door and stand on the street. The travesty!!
I am going to go stark raving mad soon. I was going to go to a bar, but I think I will meet the same fate.
I will learn to complain less and savour the good things when back in China next week.
How do smokers deal with China withdrawal?
Dude, either remain in China, or do a lot of walking to be able to light up outside buildings. It is a pain you know where, for the first few hours I tend to forget and light up in many places I am not supposed to. In all honestly, in a way for that reason, I have restricted most of my traveling to be inside China or to nearby Asian countries.
I dig the cheapness of the cigs, and I like being able to smoke in most places. It can be annoying back home being so restricted as to where its allowed. However, I do like that back home people smoke where its allowed. A guy smoking in the elevator or in the middle of the supermarket or in the reception of an office gets on my nerves.
There are good and bad things about both the restrictions and the freedom of smoking.
Buy some electronic cigarettes all the fun done of the side effects. There cheaper and don’t have the bad side effects from burning and they just look cool as hell man.
Second the walking is good it counteracts the cigarettes by making you exercise.
Or you could just learn to run faster when someone sees you.
I quit. I bought a disposable e-cig (has about 2 packs worth) and it has lasted me a little over a month, and I don't drag on it everyday. So it's gonna suck when I finally get there and smell all that smoke. Ya damn smokers

That's great you quit now. Quitting in China has to be about the hardest thing you can do.

I can't imagine trying in China. Not without killing someone. TBH, I cheated. I spent time in the hospital. I started smoking again when I was all better for about 2 months, then beat myself up for being stupid. Bought the ecig crutch, but have barely needed it.
I think the really low prices and the ability to smoke anywhere makes it a smoker's heaven. I have a lot of pictures of me smoking in front of no-smoking signs, or next to guards in no-smoking areas.
Every time I go back to France my packs last a LOT longer, mostly because of the price, the inconvenience of buying a new pack, and having to find a smoking area.
