To legally work in China, you need a bachelor/licence degree or equivalent and two years of working experience in the related field.
ScotsAlan:
Not true.
I got a Z visa and it was converted into a 3 year RP. And I don't have a degree.
It was not easy, There was a lot of back and forward stuff with the labour department. They even asked for my High School finishing certificate, but in my country such a thing does not exist.
It can be done. In my case I got it because of my 25+ years experience in a specific Engineering field.
Eorthisio:
That is BS, I know hundred of foreigners on Z-visa who have never been to college and had no related experience when they applied for this Z-visa. And no they don't work in poor provinces, all of them are in Guangzhou or Shenzhen, supposedly the most strict cities in China for visa requirements.
Hotwater:
I'm in the same position as ScotsAlan.....more than 20 years Engineering experience and no degree (I've got an HNC which in the UK is equivalent to 1st year of a degree).
Work Permits can be got without Degrees....all depends on how much the company wants you and justifying it based on experience to the labour department (or whatever they are called)
RiriRiri:
You are all talking about exceptions (I can understand one getting a pass with 25 years of experience) OR breaking the law by forging documents (don't be naive).
I am talking about the law.
Lord_hanson:
I also have a working visa and didn't go to university. As long as you have some different qualifications related to the field you will be working in they should be able to get you a z visa. You should not come here on a different type of visa. The z visa should ideally be applied for in your home country..
Pascalou:
Of course you can, my boyfriend got a RP last year without any diploma and extended it this year without forging of course.
There might be a company willing to employ you without having met the minimum work requirements, but this could come back to haunt in as follows:
They might tell you to come in on a 'F' or tourist visa and promise that you will get a 'Z' when you arrive - avoid this, they are scam artists and you will be illegal with all that being illegal entails
They might have faked your qualifications - you could potentially be found out at a later date and suffer from the consequences
Either way, your company will use this as a way to control you and cheat you at every opportunity.
Don't believe their assurances that everything is ok
but it is your choice
good luck

OP: follow this answer being honest to yourself and the regulations.
Don't even think about coming to China until you can at least capitalize your "i".
thefidu881:
I am down voting you for the discouraging remarks and here's what I found :
Anyone tends to work in China do not need to be an English speaker or specifically a native speaker. They also don't need to be 'A' English teacher rather can work in other sectors like trade and production. Even the native speakers sometimes don't capitalize the 'I' and usually no 'an' before a vowel.
We should welcome people looking for serious help rather disgrace and discourage on the basis of our own 'inherited' knowledge. I am not sure whether you are having a BCD or just bullying someone not having an English name. Whatever the case is, have a nice weekend.
ironman510:
@Thefidu881, you must be young, for someone to type out their complete thoughts as you do must be young, a trouble maker or not yet matured and I'm guessing you're not a native English speaker. Why else would you allow this remark to offend you so much. Anyway feel free to down vote all my post please ^^..I'm not here for votes, but rather learn how people survive here on such a visa system and to share what I've learned.
thefidu881:
I am young and speak out the reality whatsoever is the response from children like you. I have enough patience for criticism and as I said you are having a BCD so I won't go ahead.
I am am not going to search your posts and down vote them like you are doing right now. You should better find a piece of mirror to look at.
My remarks are not an of fence rather a criticism on your answer with arguments and you should have come up counter arguments instead of getting into 'Disney Land'.
I am a non 'Naive' speaker of English and leaned English through my efforts and it lead me to the position to teach others a language that is not inherited to me. I feel much better than you in that case.
Grow up dude, get some life instead of showing me that you are a real ' Naive' speaker.
Some expat that I met claimed they don't have a degree, but they have a working visa. Of course I don't know if its true or not, but I think its possible.
However, the things that you must keep in mind is about the legality or validity of your "visa", make sure its not fake or something. Like if the company made it for your and send it to you, you first check it with the authorities in your country. Always be careful and double check for these kind of stuff, because you will be alone in a foreign country and most likely no 1 will give a shit about you.
