Saving accounts in China are not allowed with more than one parson's name as title holder.  And it has been my experience that the bank (at least Bank of China) will not issue a supplementary card.  Their rule is one name, one card per account.

What I had to end up doing is open two accounts, one under my name and one under my GF, and transfer funds as needed.  Of course, if she knows the PIN number of my account, she can use my ATM card.

bit difficult may be.... but i have 2 cards... one is company credit card... another is debit card...

Credit Card is linked to debit card for auto pay back monthly.. No fee as my debit card account have enough money... and is repaid without any problem.... so its like a delayed second debit card Wink... delay in talking money from you...

And u could put credit limit on the card and give to your gf/wife.. Wink

And each transaction comes to ur mobile phone as SMS immediately

HappyExPat:

The question was if he could have a supplementary card, which means two cards (identical) under one account.  having a company credit card and a debit card from your savings account is very common among executives here.  But even if tied together, try asking for a second debit card and you will get "mei you".

The Bank of China will indeed issue two cards, under the same name, for one account.  The second card is not free, however, and there is a charge of at-least-what-I-remember as being something RMB 100 per year for the card, payable upon issuance of the card.  In my own case, the Bank of China has indeed issued me two cards. Any questions, just pick up the telephone at any Bank of China ATM outlet.  Ask for someone who speaks English at the Customer Service desk and that person should be able to give the details.
