I have relevant teaching experiences in the field of teaching the english language... Most ads by the employers I have read in various sites, requires ESL, TEFL, or TESOL certificate to be hired. Will there still schools that will hire me if I don't have the abovementioned certificates? Thanks for your reply.

Please note that the two key words in all the news of the last few days is "MAY" and "BEIJING"
HERE "IS" THE PRESENT SITUATION IN CHINA:

Don't let the recruiters and TEFL/TESOL sales reps fool or confuse you.
I don't think you need TEFL/TESOL certificates to teach. If you have experience as a teacher and a relevant or semi-relevant degree then you can get good money. It all depends on your ability to promote yourself, how presentable you are and a modicum of luck.

Read the new rules for FTs, applicable starting Sept. 15, this year.

Don't let the recruiters and TEFL/TESOL sales reps fool or confuse you. See this clarification: http://www.scam.com/showpost.php?p=1783414&postcount=3
Another silly post. TEFL/ CELTA/ TESOL (1 of the 3) is required by Chinese law. Many agents will try to tell you that you do not need it, but that's because they will forge it. Screwing you over in the long run.
Almost:
No! - they are not required. Only EF requires TEFL or TESOL certificates. I am now convinced you peddle TEFL or TESOL certificates for a living Ted.
http://www.scam.com/showpost.php?p=1783414&postcount=3
Please provide your link show that it is NOW REQUIRED BY LAW. Only Beijing is considering making it a law for kindergarten teachers. It MAY or MAY NOT become reality. You can verify this by contacting your own embassy or visiting the official SAFEA website at http://SAFEA.gov.cnAlmost:
Please provide a link to your "Chinese Law" that requires TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA certificate. You are clearly one of the people that this link below is trying to expose:

Omg how could you ted? If Good Almost says so you must apologize.
I just got my CELTA in January of this year, and I have worked in China for 4 years before...so there is that to think about...

Thank you rasklnik. EnglteachTed is clearly a recruiter and/or a TEFL course peddler that is exposed at this scam.com website: http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?t=616386
Less than 5% of all the current expat teachers in China have TEFL or TESOL certificates and probably half of those that do are fake.
Easily in 3rd and 4th tier cities, if you're willing to risk working without Z visa. Be white, be nice, keep your nose clean, and I highly doubt you'll run into trouble.
AT PRESENT THERE IS NO REQUIREMENT OF LAW THAT REQUIRES TEFL, TESOL, NOR CELTA CERTIFICATES TO TEACH IN CHINA.
http://www.scam.com/showpost.php?p=1783414&postcount=3
However, the EF chain of English schools requires one of the 3 AND according to unsupported China Daily news, the CITY OF BEIJING, wants to include 5 years of teaching experience and "some teaching certification" for kindergartens. No law has been finalized but we can expect some announcement next month.

That sounds like something a good CFTU rep might say...but where's the pinocchio? without a confirmation picture in the post how can we be sure you aren't trying to mislead us?
Are you one of those CFTUnuchs who was kicked out for using foul language? Tough break, man! Hope things turn around and keep up the good posting!
Every county FEB has different requirements. Beijing makes the law and all the areas of China interpret the mandate in their own way. Why are people here bickering about this? Some places require a degree, others don't, some require a background check and others don't, etc. I've worked in 3 different cities and each SCHOOL, not recruiters, has asked me for a my T.E.F.L .
Almost:
Sorry but you are not correct. Official Chinese law now requires all foreign teachers in CHINA (not just Beijing) to have a 4 year degree and Z visa. The reason people bicker and try to fool one another can be found at these two links:
http://www.scam.com/showpost.php?p=1783414&postcount=3 and
If anyone doubts this information at all just contact your own embassy or visit the official SAFEA website and see for yourself at http://SAFEA.gov.cn

@Almost.
I know the law. But just becuase it is a law in China does not mean that it is implemented. At this moment that I am writting to you a fresh high school graduate is sitting beside me working on a Z Visa at the same school. She is just 19 years old. How do you explain that one?
There are without any doubt 2 or 3 recruiters on this forum who apparently also sell TEFL or TESOL training programs. This is a problem at every expat forum as you can see from the below links.
http://www.eslbase.com/forum/viewtopic/t-3125
http://www.esl-jobs-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=6523
Don't believe any sales crap or deliberate disinformation you see on a forum when it comes to China foreign teacher requirements. Get your info directly from the Chinese government or the U.S. embassy here at these links:
http://shenyang.usembassy-china.org.cn/acs-notice2/teaching-english-in-china.html?op=switchOnAdmin
Again the bottom line is that you can find plenty of teaching jobs in China WITHOUT a TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA certificate so long as meet the other OFFICIAL government requirements and have a bachelors degree and Z visa.
See: http://ChinaScamPatrol.wordpress.com or http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?t=616386
You should get a tefl, but make sure you do it in your own country. It isn't that expensive if you consider all of the things you have to pay for to get a Z visa and get over here in the first place.
Almost:
Even though you legally do not need a tefl certificate to teach in China, legitimate TEFL training would make you a better teacher and give you more confidence in the classroom. But my advice would be to avoid all the online and software garbage courses which do not offer the best learning environment nor the chance to role play and have a dialogue with instructors or other students. Also you need to know that more than half of all the TEFL and TESOL certificates offered today are NOT recognized nor accepted in China or other BRIC countries. This link explains how some of the biggest TEFL training companies give certificates that only let you teach in Ethiopia, Haiti, Yemen, Estonia, Uzbekistan, Guatemala, and other undesirable locations: http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?t=616386&highlight=TEFL+certificate
