Big city with some 6M residents. Windy with cleaner air and cold winters (-15*C), i.e. pets in Dalian are dressed  in garments ... dog in 4 shoes ...'cause cold&icy ground  ... I kid you not!

It's a nice place to visit, if you want to work there I'd guess it's like anywhere else and depends on the school.

 

Do your due diligence, don't take a job at Happy Giraffe Engrish Skool and I'm sure it will be great.

A:Chinese are generally pretty tolerant friendly and accepting whatever foreigners do.  I spent 15 years in China but I wouldn't say there are that many don'ts....Don't assume that many people speak English though and learn some Chinese. Don't speak much about politics unless you want to praise Chinese system.  -- Natalie363
