Q: Do you get excited if you see a celebrity from China?

I just came from an event this week and there was some celebrities...I didn't see any other foreigners...I wasn't that excited because the only celebrity I knew or know about was FAN BiNG BING the actress that had that short role in Iron Man III. Well she did get the most cheers it was her another lady and a guy. I only knew her. Do you get excited if you see any celebrities here?

No.  Wouldn't know a Chinese celebrity if I saw one, and honestly wouldn't care either.  I'm not into film stars or music stars. Only reason that blonde girl from canada catches my attention is that she is HOTTT.  (yes, I do recognise she is more successful, competent, achieving than I am or ever will be, and I do admire her for that. I just don't give a fk about her celebrity status).

No and most of them make me feel nauseous. They're completely materialistic, lack talent and do not use their wealth to help the greater good. The only exceptions I know of are Fan Bingbing, Zhou Xun, Jet Li, Jackie Chan and a few other A-listers. But the B or C listers are just well-connected people who either shagged or bribed their way into the entertainment industry and only care about living in luxury and having face. These are not people worth idolizing or respecting.

Jackie Chan's also famous here for being sleazy.  Jet Li or Chow Yun-fat might be a better bet for martial art worship.

I thought Jackie Chan and Jet Li weren't Chinese, they just look that way.

The only Chinese celebrity who I deem mildly passable is Yao Chen. She seems quite down to earth and is someone who posts interesting stuff on Weibo about injustice in society and food scandals etc.

A:Your potential employer is right! Purpose of the Medical exam before granting Z visa is to make sure, you won't be entering China in any abnormal and harmful to others condition.Few days after your arrival to China, you'll be required to complete another ME ... If ME in China will be OK, you'll get a Residence permit stamp into your book some 10-days afterwards. Imagine, you're an employer, who can sponsor my entry and work in China, but after my arrival to China would be found I carry some sickness, which would prevent Chinese .gov to issue a Residence permit. Rule is: Z visa should be converted into Residence permit in 30-days after entry to China.    So, my advice is:"Complete ME in your home country and forward medical results to your employer".Z visa grant will follow shortly afterwards. Employer is not wrong at their demand for the pre-arrival ME from your home country hospital.   -- icnif77
