Q: Does anyone know about any special christmas events happening here in Beijing?

Something that may feel a bit like home here. Granted its China, but I have been told there are events catered towards foreigners like myself

If you are German, check with the German Embassy.  For the past several years the Embassy and the German community in Beijing have organized a wonderful Christmas-tree lighting party.  Really great.

A: Chinese are generally pretty tolerant friendly and accepting whatever
A:Chinese are generally pretty tolerant friendly and accepting whatever foreigners do.  I spent 15 years in China but I wouldn't say there are that many don'ts....Don't assume that many people speak English though and learn some Chinese. Don't speak much about politics unless you want to praise Chinese system.  -- Natalie363
