Q: Dumb non-China question of the day...

I'm downloading a big torrent file (Vuze bittorrent client),,,,  79.23gb,,,,  but I only have 29.54gb memory available on my MacBook Air (121.12gb flash drive),,,,   I didn't think about that because would put the file on my external drive anyway (1tb).   But do I still have to have 80gb plus available on computer to dl it?

*it's dl'ing now, I have 13.5%

In your options somewhere you should have the choice of where you DL the file to.

You won't have room on your Macbook so it will probably end in frustration and wasted time but you should be able to change the download location to your external drive.

diverdude1:

ah,,,  makes sense.  I will search for that option now.    14.7% so I have time,, haha

Stiggs:

Thing is, once you start the DL I don't know if you could change the destination. You'd have part on your computer and the rest on the external drive.

A better idea maybe to move stuff off your computer and onto the external drive temporarily to free up the room then change it all around later.

I did this too......

I was using a laptop and realised half way through a large file that the laptop hard drive wouldn't be big enough, so I attached an external hard drive ...

and

All I did was.
STOP EVERYTHING DOWNLOADING.
CLOSE VUSE.
COPY THE ENTITE VUSE DOWNLAODS FOLDER
PASTE FOLDER TO MY EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE.
OPEN VUSE.
CHANGE THE DIRECTORY FOR DOWNLOADS IN PREFERENCES TO NEW FOLDER ON EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE.
START DOWNLOADING AGAIN.

they took off from where they left off, but to new location, I checked first item that completed and it worked fine. I use a Mac, don't know if that matters, but it works this simple way.

I restarted vuze,,, restarted the DL,,, checked the File Path,,, which it seems to recognise as the ED,,,,, but now the darn torrent is getting nothing!  I mean it was slow before,,, but now,,, zilch.    Is it because I changed the destination folder ?  or is it just a broken torrent ??   ugh

Next laptop I buy I'm getting a terabyte or not buying it,,,, hell, they have iphone with 512gb,, and I think Sammys expand up to 1tb already.

79 gig, damn you copy 20 seasons of gunsmoke or something

the thing most people forget is to load additional trackers, the more you have the faster you can get what you need from other torrent sites since they share a lot of trackers.

You can download a list of trackers off of "bit che" as a torrent itself, just type in a search for trackers.

I do have 20 seasons of gunsmoke reduced to MP4 Ipod to reduce space, 73 gigabytes but I also have every "the great courses", 731 different ones takes up 1.86 TB, all reduced to Ipod mp4. i just reduced "castle" all seasons from 1080 and 131gb on handbrake to ipod mp4, now its 18 gb.

diverdude1:

Boy whay I would do for 20 seasons of Gunsmoke!  well,,, guess I know what I searching for next ,, haha,,,   yeah,, I considered trackers like u said,, but I never really figured that out.  Plus today I was getting 1mB/sec so I'm happy enuf with that.

If you like Aussie cop shows Ambi, you might like Underbelly.

Each series is based on the true story of real Aussie gangsters and how they eventually got caught or killed.

A:In my personal experience, teaching certificates have varied in relevance depending on the context and location. Here's a breakdown of each aspect:a) Getting the teaching job: Teaching certificates can certainly enhance your chances of securing a teaching position, especially in formal educational settings such as schools and language institutions. Many employers prefer candidates who have undergone specific training in pedagogy and instructional techniques, which these certificates often provide. However, other factors such as experience, references, and the demand for teachers in a particular area also play significant roles in the hiring process.b) Getting a higher salary than your uncertified competitors: In some cases, holding a teaching certificate can indeed lead to a higher salary compared to uncertified competitors. Many educational institutions have structured salary scales that take into account factors such as level of education, years of experience, and additional certifications. Holding a teaching certificate may place you in a higher salary bracket or make you eligible for certain salary incentives or bonuses. However, this can vary widely depending on the specific policies of the institution or organization.c) Getting promotions: Teaching certificates can be beneficial for career advancement and securing promotions within the field of education. They demonstrate a commitment to professional development and mastery of teaching skills, which are qualities that many employers value when considering candidates for leadership positions or administrative roles. Additionally, some promotions may require specific certifications or qualifications, making holding a teaching certificate essential for advancement in certain cases.Regarding which certificate yields better results, it largely depends on the specific requirements of the job market and the educational context in which you intend to work. For example:A Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) is often highly regarded in formal school settings and can be advantageous for those seeking positions in primary or secondary education.Montessori certification is valuable for individuals interested in working in Montessori schools or implementing Montessori principles in their teaching approach.A Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate is particularly relevant for those seeking to teach English to non-native speakers in international contexts or language schools.Ultimately, the best certificate for you will depend on your career goals, the specific requirements of the positions you're interested in, and the preferences of potential employers in your target job market. It's essential to research the requirements and preferences of employers in your desired field and tailor your qualifications accordingly. -- ruqaiya761
