Speaking of the Ed Sheeran songs:
I compare the imagery in the music videos of his two songs:
1. Thinking out Loud
2. Shape of You
THINKING OUT LOUD
Features a scantily clad ballerina in a revealing corset, doing dance routines that are a mix of ballroom dancing and a striptease. An attractive white girl. In a tasteful ballroom, of course.
The lyrics are deeply romantic, with things like: "And darling I will be loving you 'til we're 70."
SHAPE OF YOU
Features a somewhat attractive non-white girl with exotic features, dark skin, Asian eyes. He meets her in a grimy (kick)boxing gym, and they eat some fried chicken in a dull looking cafeteria. Some pull-ups in a sports bra is the most physical she gets - no striptease involved. A sumo wrestler and a fat suit appear at the end, which is funny until you understand the subtext.
The song is down and dirty, with the horny lyrics: "I'm in love with your body."
THE SUBLIMINAL MESSAGE is clear: (white) Men who are attracted to white girls, are well-intentioned, with respectful, socially acceptable motives. The white girls they choose are wholesome, sophisticated, beautiful women with real prospects for a long-term relationship. Even if they're doing a bloody striptease! Remember, it's the ethnic background that matters, not actions or quality of character.
Conversely, white men who are attracted to non-white girls, have bad intentions, preoccupied with the physical, motivated only by lust. The non-white girls they choose are unwholesome, unsophisticated, mediocre women with no realistic prospect for a lasting relationship. Even if they court in a respectful, genuine way, it doesn't matter. It's the ethnic background that matters, not actions or quality of character.
It's unsettling to experience how top musicians get swept into this propaganda machine. Especially if you're in a multiracial relationship, with children like myself. Who is paying for these kinds of insidious manipulations, anyway?
My one consolation, is that IT DOESN'T WORK, haha! If you single out non-white women, stigmatizing interracial relationships as not-socially-acceptable, it'll backfire. They become the forbidden fruit. People in individualist society are not put off by the prospect of their relationship being disapproved of by friends and family. In fact, it's alluring! You can have a relationship separated from involvement, if it goes badly, your friends and family will support you and denounce your ex, there will be no messy dramas.
So, white girls, with all their social approval, pose a far greater risk of you quickly getting roped into the relationship, tangled relationship ties with your friends and family, which will be major reputation damage if the relationship ends!
I'm not joking. All the anti-multicultural propaganda just makes foreign partners a more appealing prospect! And they're trying so hard to discourage it, but they forget, we ALL want a 'bad girl'. Humans are so hilariously ineffective, you know? I mean, if you're nativist, it's probably a bad result if your efforts lead to more mixed race relationships, right?
I'm glad you reposted that, it was a shame to see it get deleted for being a reply to a troll....
I gotta say I almost never watch pop music videos, usually can't stand the music so why would I bother, but I when I do I often think there are so many awful messages in them messing with people's heads.
I never really thought about subliminal messages like you're suggesting though but you might have a point there. I always just watch them and wonder how many impressionable teenagers have self esteem issues because they're not pop star beautiful with perfect bodies.

Thanks. I rescued the text at the last moment, after realizing my edit failed because thread deleted. Back button worked, phew! Admincat sure is vigilant at the most inopportune times.

Your reply was deleted 'cause troll's thread was completely vaporised.
I didn't see your reply, but I guess, if something would be wrong with your reply, opening of a new thread with the same text as it was at the reply, it wouldn't stand, either.
Logic ...

Yep, the world/popular media has sure screwed up the last few generations of girls ,,, either supposed to come across 'Princess' pretty, or 'Skank' ho,,, not much room for just a normal person.... I see it everyday kids feeling bad about themselves for being heavy-set or plain looking or acne or whatever. This high judgement on the physical is making for some pretty unhappy youths and soon to be maladjusted adults imo.
Doesn't take much searching at all on Weixin Moments to see them hawking some sort of weight-loss miracle product. One girl on there the other day bragging about how she was now 83lbs. She looked like a scarecrow!
