There are many brands but, the electric motor is all the same. I believe they have the same concept (motor) So you but what you like. The heart is the motor and battery.
Forget about a Gas scooter, I know foreigners have them but legally you need a licence and rego, also in some cities they are banned during daytime. If you buy an EBike get a locally made one with heavy duty batteries, wheels and brakes if you can. Hermes is the local bike where I live, 3 years ago I bought one and sold it very quickley, and after that I bought an export EBike. The Hermes are getting better with a bigger electric motor. I found it didn't have the leg room for me or the power. You just have to shop around and do your homework.
Make sure you can get the bigger batteries 20amp hour.
Taking someone with you to translate is like talking with farm animals
a new one will cost you around 3500rmb (big one suitable for foreigners, vespa style), depending on the battery might be a couple of hundreds more
60Volt has further range than 48V.
Gas ones are banned now and not sold any longer. And even if you manage to get one, gas stations are not allowed to sell gasoline to bikes who dont have any license...

They won't do hundreds of Km's, maybe if your lucky 40 or 50, if you flatten the battery you will cause it to fail. My bike has special batteries (that are made in Ningbo and Taiwan) as it is made for export and I can tell you with all honesty that the Ebikes here won't do better than mine in power or distance. The batteries in my bike are over 500 RMB (each) times by 5 (60volts) so that is over 2,500 RMB for the batteries alone If you really want to know more about Ebikes let me know and I can paint you a picture!

my bike is 48v and i can go appr 30km with it (usually occupied by 2 ppl). the 60v should be able to go up to 50km, which is almost double and more convenient than charging again and again after a few short rides. next time i would def buy a 60v
Unlike San Francisco, or as the deplorables like to say the "gay bay", at least you don't have to dodge feces and turds to get around the city. just an occasional split pants baby pooper.
