I like these styles, they have a strong frame, disc brakes and you can get bigger motors.

Even on motorcycles I've found front drum brakes don't work when they get wet. disc are better at stopping.

  Luyuan seems to be a good brand, many scooters get rebadged like Yahaha, or Hodna , I think because most Chinese can't read English, As for quality , Canada imports Luyuan scooters as GIO, the dealers tell me they take them apart, put lock-tite and lock washers on them, every scooter seems to be wired differently, they run OK, just Chinese are slackers when it comes to quality. My scooter had the 500-800 watt motor, a 350-500 watt motor is too slow, next time I want a bigger wattage motor with more batteries. A 48 volt 20 amp is better than a 48volt 12 amp, amps get distance. You can get 60 volt and 72 volt bikes, I was told not all batteries are equal in quality, so do some home work on the local ones. If I say longer next time, I'd get lithium batteries or maybe silicone.

 I won't worry about the scooter quality. I had a look at mine before they put the batteries in and made them fix some missing fasteners.

That bare looking scooter looks like a Yamaha frame, Honda has a scooter like that also, no plastic body parts to get smashed, but no compartments, You'd have to add or build one in. I had a friend that had a Yamaha scooter, but as far as I know yamaha doesn't make electric scooters, but the quailty and ride of the bike was better than mine, but mine was way faster.
Just buy what you want. If you have a problem with the scooter, they store will fix it. There are plenty of little shops that fix scooters, just find a trust worthy one. I smashed the light control housing that held my rear brake lever, I went to a shop and they wanted 400 and a week, went back to my dealer and the local shop, they asked 50, but no part, they ordered the part and it was delivered in 15 minutes, The 50 included installation.

I usually just gunned my bike, got about 30 kms, I drove 60kms one day doing 20-25, did 60kms by the time I got home and the charge still said full, I think it would have gone down soon, I had a 48 volt 20 amp, 500 (to 800) watt motors,, amps gives you distance a 12 amp bike won't go as far.

I suggest you go with Yamaha - made in Japan and they never break down.  I had three electric Chinese scooters and only the Leike was semi-reliable.  Th real total range on all of them is about 40 kilometers so be sure to set your odometer and carry a 100 foot extension cord!
