Q: Expats "stealing" Chinese women - is that a joke or are they serious?
Met friends of Chinese friend, introduced, chatted, blablabla...at one point in the conversation they asked me if I had a gf. Yes.
Is she Chinese.
Yes.
Ah, you've come to China to steal our meinv hahaha.
When he saw my soulless smile he changed topic.
I've heard this one thrown out there before but always assumed it was hot air. Now I'm not sure anymore. You know what they say: there's a bit of truth to every joke. And, compounded by the fact that Chinese are naturally anti-confrontational, especially with foreigners, I'm now starting to doubt whether it's actually not a lot more widespread....

I did, i have a 6 month supply now. i can get 5 in a suitcase, so will ship 6 suitcases home each month.
My GF says the comments are about her being with me for money.
I'm still trying to find a good fence for mine....

try a cattle electric fence, cheap to build and operate. Better I don't use the invisible fence for my dog, you can have the control module, you'll just need extra collars.
It depends from whom it comes.
The younger boys (around 20) dont seem to mind and even thought I was cool that I had a Chinese GF.
I think that as they get older, and find it harder and harder to get a date, then the resentment will begin to creep in.
Maybe when they get older, those still single and unable for whichever reason to get a partner, that is when the resentment may arise.
Well we are indeed a threat to the Chinese... Sex ratio is notverygood ... Less women... Them many foreigners marry Chinese girls... Hardly anychinese man can find a foreign women... They are under pressure.... So agree .. There is a bit truth in every joke...
It is more kind of borrowing than stealing.
Because most of the time they give them back after a few days.
It's a society where few families want their 1 child to be a daughter. So, they end up with more men than women, to the tune of 50 million more (and remember, women live longer). That's 50 million single men, so I can understand why they'd be protective.
Australia, America, Japan, Canada and UK all have more females than men, although by slim margins (probably due to their longer lifespans).

yes expats are like the pink panther and those Chinese men are like inspector cluso bravely facing us with their mighty wits and deceptive humor to catch us red handed.

if as guy says "you are stealing our women" he shows exactly why many women in china dont want a chinese man. stone age primitive thinking. women are people and therefore belong to no one not even the govt
To say someone stole something somebody would of had to own it first. Chinese women are from China that is true. But does China own the women? It's their decision and since they chose you I don't think you could say you stole anything. If that was true then they could also say they stole you from your country. Which I don't think is the case.
It is not easy. The hardest part is tying them before they are stuffed in the suitcase.
Silly ladies, they just dont stay still.....

You can't "steal" the unwilling.

I think you can. Kidnapping. It is what happens to poor helpless foreign men herein China. They are innocently looking at cultural activities when an army of pretty young Chinese girls descends on them and carries them away....
