Q: Fun game... tlx spk.... do you remember it?

It was between morse code and fax. When I started work in the early 80s we had a telex machine. Messages were charged per character,so an abrevieted language evolved. The ticker tape would tick away with instructions from head office.

It is totally dift frm txt spk m8.

Lets have a telex chat.

Who can remember Telex. And who can speak Telex?

I remember it .... however, it was mostly used among highly trained pros., i.e. military, police, firefighters .... !

It was never used as messages on/with public access.

I find it extremely annoying, today ... after years of mastering Englo spelling arrives your friendo with texting BS on public, proper English web site. Not short texting as that way of communication was designed, but whole sentences ....

Is that sumtin' new at your friend-o?
