Q: Gmail compromised, Anyone with a solution please!

I received an email from gmail team this morning that my account was accessed from Guangdong by unknown email client. They provided me the IP address as well. I am suggested to change the password which I tried but cannot access the related page. I use gmail on my phone where I am able to send/receive mails when I use the mobile data while on wifi it doesn't work. I cannot access the page for changing password from both the connections.

Anyone ne having faced the same situation or any IT expert with a solution please as am much worried for I use that account for personal and official purposes and have important data. The gmail team didn't let the intruder sign in my account as per the email.

How could it be possible to change my password? Any other possible solution will be highly regarded.

Get another email provider as Yahoo, and pair your Gmail contacts to Yahoo email (in my case). I didn't get hijacked at Gmail, but I just can't accessed it always, so I use Yahoo instead!

my wife's gmail got hacked into last week. The password was changed and the Ip address sent to me was belonging to Germany. I immediately tried to re-change the password from my cell phone but couldn't access the page. Then tried on my laptop and it was done in the blink of an eye...

My suggestion for you is that Gmail is not entirely blocked in China. I can easily access it on my laptop without my VPN but on my desktop PC I cannot get to gmail. So i suggest try to do it on another laptop or try another cell phone or even try using another VPN. I have a free VPN which i use for my cell phone but I am afraid if i disclose it here some people will be very angry surprise

I would never answer such an email. If I ever get an email from an established account asking me to click a link I delete it straight away.

The only time I click a link is when I request the email.  Forgotten password scenario or such like.

I only ever change passwords within the actual site itself. With Gmail, you can do it from within Chrome.
