Open the windows and try to dissuade people from eating beans and eggs for lunch.
It sounds pretty unfortunate, you get this kind of colleagues/bosses once or twice in your life. Just stay away from the drama, learn as much as you can on your job and get out of there soon as you ready.
I have had the good fortune of not being in this situation very often. I am of the mindset that being an ESL teacher is valuable here in China. If they do not like me, then I have no fear of finding other work in China or in the world. I have always spoke my mind and made it clear that if they do not like me, or they want to try to make trouble for me, it is no problem...just let me out of my contract. I have told government officials where they can stuff their actions against me. The very few times that I have had this "Coming to Jesus" talk with Chinese officials and bosses, everything worked out. I had a huge blowout with my boss, in front of his boss when I first arrived at my existing school. I have been here going on six years now. Since I set the record straight as to what I will and will not tolerate, things have been fine. I too have had to adjust to some things. Never have I compromised my beleifs, but I do try to bend and understand their point of view (the best I can).
can you give an example of what you experienced?
this will help in finding a solution. posters are apt to be more responsive if there is something other than a bland question. It shows that the poster is genuine, and not someone who is either a fake alias, posting for the sake of posting a question, or someone who will then respond with another alias and a spam.

i think the OP is Chinese.
notice how the request for some detail is ignored, yet the poster 'answer's' other questions with faux '70's speak'

You already know he has a chest like a malnourished sparrow, arms like over-cooked noodles, likes basketball, computer/phone games, watching animal cruelty videos, sleeping and hates japan. What else would he be able to share?

Come on OP, be happyyyyyyyyyy! Not quite as happy as my happyyyyyyy suggests you should be, but reasonable hapy would suffice! What a droll thread!

to the OP,
how would you deal with a toxic work situation?
It would make you seem more like a real person if you shared some of your own expericences.
Otherwise it really makes you seem like a fake profile that is just here to 'stimulate' converation.

I wonder, when they will put masks on the smileys, here. We are so behind the trend.
when my work place becomes toxic, i open a window.
i then send an email to colleagues reminding them not to eat beans or cabbage before coming to work.
Sandnose:
Sofadude, beans, cabbage and eggs sounds awesome to me :-) A Guinness or two would put a gloss on it.

There could be a smidgen of toxicity there...but only if you are unharmonious.

"We Sent Them Samples Of A Goat, A Papaya & A Pheasant": Tanzanian President Catches WHO In Epic Lie
When the president heard the news, he reportedly confronted the WHO, then kicked the organization out of the country.
As the number of confirmed coronavirus cases explodes across Africa, the creeping involvement of the WHO has made some leaders suspicious of the NGO. Tanzanian President John Magufuli was growing suspicious of the organization, so he reportedly decided to investigate whether the organization was as trustworthy and reliable as it claimed to be.
He played what the local press described as "a trick" on the organization: He sent the WHO samples of a goat, a papaya and a quail for testing.
All three samples reportedly tested positive. When the president heard the news, he reportedly confronted the WHO, then kicked the organization out of the country. Though, to be sure, the WHO has yet to comment on the situation.
That would suggest one of two conclusions: either the strain of SARS-CoV-2 running amok in Tanzania is much, much more infectious than scientists understand, or the WHO has been reporting incorrect results either on purpose (as an attempt to bolster its credibility in the face of President Trump's attacks) or via error (yet another indication that the WHO truly is "badly broken" - as Vox described it back in 2015).
