Q: Has Quora.com been completely taken over by the fifty cent army?

I don't even bother to read it anymore. About 18 months until one year ago it was one of the best sites for finding information. People would write questions and members could vote on what would be considered the best answer provided. There were questions about the temperament of certain prominent people and people who knew them in very interesting professional ways would provide an insight into what it would have been like for person x at a particular given time.

Now I get all these messages asking "blah blah blah why do westerners not love China?" "why is the CCP vilified" "Was the tiananmen thing real" and the answers were just filled with people writing propaganda and getting upvotes from what must only be hacks.

Why would they bother? Do they think we're so stupid that we can't see through this?

Way to ruin a good site...

Although not a frequent visitor I enjoy reading the answers there. As you are saying, many are great answers from seasoned professionals.

It would be a great loss if it is invaded by wumao (wu=five, mao=cent) low lives, just like so many once great places on this planet.

Interestingly, I logon to post a similar issue regarding mainland china's low lives and how they are destroying other cultures.

It is a pleasant surprise to hear it is the Venetians who have the spine to basically say 'f__k off you filthy low lives, we do not want you in Venice, we rather earn less'. https://rusreality.com/2017/06/21/venice-want-to-close-for-tourist-ships/   I will go create the OP now.

loudvillager:

I used to write back home and tell everyone to say that too.

They didn't listen. In hindsight, a lot of them probably wish they did.

Since we've let loads of Chinese tourists come through the country there have been lots of Chinese people employed by Chinese tour companies working in petrol stations and cafes along the route, along with Chinese bus drivers taking the tourists to these destinations. Unsurprising really, when you consider so few people speak Mandarin and English, but the net effect has been a compression of local people's wages and a higher demand from Chinese diplomats that we have more infrastructure put in place to cater to the tourists.

You can't really make money off them. They drive up prices and costs and drive down the pleasantness of the scenery and local wages.

Same thing with Halong Bay, Vietnam. It used to be a serene, beautiful place. Gone with the invasion of dalu psychos. Sure, the hawkers on the streets, tour guides who know nothing other than money are laughing even in their dreams, the educated class who have taste and are cultured are disgusted to see these shit_bombs blowing their best places up. Halong Bay is now packed like a sardine can, with mainland psychos trashing the place.

The long term damages these psychos do to their people and country outweigh any immediate financial gain. Your countrymen who are too naive to listen to you are paying the price. No use crying over spilled milk. The Venetians are wise enough to take actions the same way other countries deal with terrorists --- take action, not enough to just yell f__k off .

The answer is yes, part of China's open plan to infiltrate all sources of media and make them speak of China in a positive light .

There's an interesting youtube channel that all should watch, China Uncensored

loudvillager:

I wonder if they're just hamfisted about the way they attempt to go about brainwashing the rest of the world, or if they've just assumed that the rest of us are as credulous as the general population that they're accustomed to pumping nonsense into.

They're actually pretty successful, remember the outside world knows nothing about China. And liberals are always looking to denigrate their own culture / country to kiss the ass of countries / cultures like China. They don't believe what they see in the media and the mainstream media under reports what happens in China due to China hanging 'access ' over their heads

You're dead right about the guilty masochistic liberals. To make matters worse, they'll fetishize other cultures and they really lap up all the bullshit about them being hardworking and so well educated.

Once I tell people that people over here are 100 times more engrossed in an iphone screen than any "millennial who needs to cut back on the avocado toast" and probably have a lost unit of productivity of around 87% per day while requiring persistent micro-management to solve the most basic problems and that the number one grossing movie is The Fast and the Furious 7, it rocks their world a bit.

How many times a month do I read articles out of western countries about how Chinese are better students and their schools are better. Having worked in Education here and in America , I laugh everytime.

precisely. quora, like all western sites are flooded with cybercom shils, and thats why alot of them get blocked, especially the popular ones like quora. in fact, the chinese were quite tolerant of quora for a few yrs before it got blocked. put it this way, if sina was putting out anti amerikan content, im sure the us would take down the entire site. thats why u dont see any anti amerikan websites on the internet... anywhere. the only ones that u do see are rt, but even they are controled disent. if u look at rt, the majority of their editors are westerners (plants)
