I went to a hot pot restaurant recently and ordered beef. A plate of bright pink "meat' rolls arrived with no speck of fat. It looked completely fake and artificial and unlike any beef I've ever seen. The Chinese companion I was with immediately refused it and urged us to leave the restaurant at once. And that was the end of it. Have you ever had a close encounter with fake meat and if so, what if anything did you do about it?
I've had a couple of cases (3 or 4) where it was impossible to tell what animal the meat came from based on taste, texture or appearance. I think it's been beef, or has been supposed to be beef in all encounters I've had.
But e.g. the stuff on top of Pizza Hut's pizzas can be difficult to identify. Probably a great deal rat-turds on there.
....trying like hell to think of some smart-assed comment from my gf...
best leave this one to Martian....
Nope...it was definitely real rat i was eating at my local flesh-boiling outlet
if i can't identify the animal the meat comes from - usually through seeing the bones - i don't order it.
I think you mean:
Have you ever suspected a restaurant of serving you meat?
Have you ever wondered why steak looks like the sole of a Nike? I'm sure the restaurants recycle the bones you get in your meal, there's no meat on them. Fake meat probably, but it's the other stuff, all uneatable for my tastes, chicken feet, pig ears, veins, rat, cat, dog assholes that worry me.
Eat like the Chinese, rice or noodle.
