Q: How to connect with guys in a social networking event?

Last time, I went to a social networking event to try to meet guys. I am sure that I look good at the moment as the photographer asked to take my picture while I was walking in. I was in a golden evening dress, probally the only lady came in with nice dress.

I saw the cute guys are surrounded by many people already and I just stayed there alone and almost no guy came to me. Soon after, I just left the event.

I am not good at socialing and a bit shy also. Please help give advice of how to get to talk to guys in networking event or make them come to me.

Social networking is about business, you move in to small group, catch a break in the conversation, introduce yourself and give out some business cards and move on, if you find a potential customer, you go into a holding pattern and linger there with the conversation a little longer, then move onto the next target group. It's business, not personal, unless of course you see some beefcake on the menu that you like. Make sure you have good eye contact, smile and walk the room like you own the building that the room is in. CONFIDENCE. but not cocky know it all.

A:I had a similar experience in HK. If I recall correctly, before or at the Z visa application, I had to submit ME from the ordinary HK clinic, where I explained why I need ME and I asked them to examine only necessary things (I don't remember the cost ...), and then ... I got Z stamp and when back in China, I had to complete another RP ME, which was on the employer, i.e. included in the Contract ...We've never discussed refund of payment for HK ME with my employer. Year 2013 ...I'd say, that is a regular thingy embassies around the world require, before issuing visas for LT stay in the country. "Vladimir Vladimiro-Witch ras-Putin" (LOL@your pronunciation ..) demands the same thingy before granting LT stay in Ruski.  ... Haa, 2013 was the Snowden's year. I was in Kowloon at the time of his landing .. with all these files ... I'm-Still-in-LMAO-State ... Cost for the ME in HK was around HK$ 2000/200 EUR, and ME was kind of swift, quicker and way shorter than on the mainland ... -- icnif77
