Q: how do I get a job as an English teacher?
I am looking for a job and I have applied several times but I received no invitations. I am an English teacher with 8 years of experience.

Chinese employers won't reply if they aren't interested in your CV or if they can't apply for legal paperwork (Working permit) because you don't qualify for this or that reason.
As the last change in legal employment rules in China (2016/17):
1. Applicant for English teaching Working permit must hold Native English passport (UK, USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand). I think, Irish also qualify.
2. Applicant's degree must be completed in one of the Native English countries.
3. As you said above, you hold Native English passport and your degree was completed in one of the native English countries, but advert requires CV with 'photo'.
Employers might not be interested in your CV 'cause you are 'coloured', i.e. African American, Indian, Pakistani and similar.
Keep sending your CV and eventually you will receive School's reply and invitation for an interview.
Applying for job anywhere in the world is very personal matter, so nobody can really advise you 'how to get an English teaching job in China'.

This is an advice from Non-native English passport holder with 8-years of English teaching experience all around China.
I exited China for good last year in June.
