Q: How do young Chinese females introduce their old, balded foreigner bf to her family?
Always have wondered this when I see them walking on the street. Well... mostly it is in the dark though. What is the reaction of the parents when they first meet?

Most of the time it complete acceptance. The typical age range "normality" of the west does not play as big a role here. The big factors are if the guy can be a good provider. And is some families, having a foreigner in the clan is considered a good thing.
The woman starts off by showing the family the new iPad that he bought her and from then on it's smooth sailing.
lots of gifts and red envelopes full of red maos for the family, that's all that matters to most families after that they dont care what you do with her as long as she can take care of them when they are retired and old

So to answer your question...money trumps all things in China...especially with family.

Maybe I don't fit all the stereotype but I guess you could call me old. The other two dont apply so much. So I really don't fit the profile that some are having a dig at in the thread. Nor would I particularly care if I did as long as I and my partner were happy. Marriage or relationships between thos of different ages happen all the time. In many cases there is a direct relationship beween the wealth of the older person (usually male but not always) and the younger one. There is less oportunity for this to happen in some countries because of the gap between rich and poor being confined to a lot less people. In China there are many more at either ends of the spectrum, plus the added need to find some financial security for you and the family in retirement. So when looked at in perspective. Does it happen Yes. Is it a Chinese phenomenon. No.
I've decided to date a younger Chinese woman. She's very, very rich. I am just a poor teacher. This is my gravy train. I don't know what I am going to say to my kids when I introduce her as my wife??!! Hope they like her...but then I am sure they will because they won't have to look after their father when he gets really old and memory challenged. She will!!

It sounds to me that you are jealous of old bald foreigners. I'm bald. So what, according to the Chinese women I met, I'm very handsome. So I'm better looking than you, Benny. It is a bit different having a bunch of women touching my face while discussing this. I've had women rub the hair on my arm with a look of curious amazement and the ones that saw the hair on my chest thought it was sexy.
Relationships are not based on how one looks. Attraction might be. Relationships are based on compatibility and life styles. A Chinese woman could have a much better life style with an old foreigner who can provide it. Don't many chinese women think they are better off with a poor foreigner than a rich China man? Maybe there is more to it than a bigots narrow view.

Well Ted, I'm getting balded too and have lots of fur on my arms and chest. But besides all the jokes and hijacks of the thread it was a seriously question from my side. As I have 2 grown up daughters myself and luckily they never came home home with older man. Each time I see this people (young girl with older foreigner) I always have to ask myself "how would I react if this would happen" and on your own you know someone ells, right? So.....

I think it may look odd, but May Dec romances are nothing new. Is the age difference that important? In these types of relationships each partner gets what they want. An old bald foreigner is not the lowest life form on this planet. Men of all races and in all countries like younger women because they have beauty that blooms from youth. Looks fade.
If the couple are really happy, then why should it matter.
Marrying younger women is nothing new. People marry older now and some older still. In my culture until about 100 years ago , women were married very young. I saw a picture of my grand mother, married and holding her oldest son, age 13 years. Long ago that was an age acceptable for marriage. Now you would be arrested for touching the girl.
There are worse things that a woman could do also. I had young girls offered to me for sex, at the time I found the situation weird, but this was China and I actually thought they were kidding. It wasn't until some time later and I thought about it that I realized it was serious. What about the women that become prostitutes? I know there some in my country, but I rarely see one. Not just China, countries all over the globe have brothels and cultures where it is acceptable to have mistresses. In my culture this is not the way. To be honest, I think no matter how much you pay a woman for sex, you are still taking advantage of her.
So Benny, if it was my daughter, I might voice a concern, maybe wonder if she was being taken advantage of, but I would hope she was happy. Sorry I mean you no disrespect but you original question seemed to come from a bigot , not a concerned father.

Personally, I don't have a problem with older dudes hooking up with younger ladies. As long as everyone is happy then it's all good. I do like joshing about it though.

I just reread the question,,, older foreigner walking mostly at night with a young woman,, I don't think anyone has to worry because I will bet the woman is not his girl friend. I think it would some nice Chinese woman who would walk with the foreigner to see that he gets safely home for a fee, and maybe tuck him into bed, give a little a massage. No worries.
