I need some form of proof of residence for a Paypal account. I sent my PSB report, the one you have to do when you move to a new place, but the address is all in Chinese. I went to my bank, CMB, but they had no clue what I was talking about when I asked for a bank statement. I don't get any mail at my address, so this is difficult. This would be a standard request at a bank in my home country, but I'm not sure how to get some form of proof of address here, so I can confirm my Chinese residency with Paypal (or Payza). Anyone done this before?

All foreigners, within 24 hours of entering China if not staying at a hotel, or 72 if at countryside, must register their address with a local Police Station closer to their residence. Also if you move, must register new address again. It is free of charge, and you get a form stating your name, passport number, visa number, date of entry, and of course, address. It is called Certificate of Temporary Residence. That document can be used to prove your address.

If you want to get technical about it, you will ned more than just an ID photo each time you havde a new address. Will need a copy of passport info page, visa page and last entry stamp page. Then a copy of contract, name and address and phone number of landlord, a copy of his/hers ID card, and a copy of Cerificate of Ownership of apartment. And then the photo. On subsequent visits while still at same address, only a photo, copies of pages from passport will be required.
