Title should be "going to", never use gonna in speech or writing.
99Silva:
Ok, well in that case I'm gonna go to sleep now! Are you coming or going? Oh you're going too! Bye!
Traveler:
Many Chinese people get mixed up between spoken and written English.
t91camp:
I use "gonna" in casual writing too, because it's what I say. This isn't an academic website, so I don't think it really matters.
crimochina:
old people don't know the difference between a term paper and an internet forum.
Who knows. Sports are rarely about skill anymore. They are more about who can find the best way to cheat the system.
Traveler:
I hope you're not insinuating that the Chinese would cheat at sport?
Amonk:
I hope you're not insinuating that they wouldn't cheat at literally everything they could get away with?
Yes, music, movies and TV shows are for entertainment purposes only. Not for educational or business purposes.
There are no such words as gonna, wanna, dunno in any English dictionary. Remember, native speakers speak differently than they write. There is proper and improper English.
I know, I've met many Chinese English teachers who like to take shortcuts. But this is one where there is no evidence that is it either acceptable in proper speech or writing. It is in essence, slang...and slang like this does not impress native speaking business professionals or educators. Break your Chinglish habits. If you think it's cool, it's not.
t91camp:
Pretentious, much? Slang is in dictionaries, too. http://oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/gonna
Maybe you're projecting your need to impress others onto this guy. He could have ulterior motives, but ignoring the question and telling him not to use "gonna" is just trolling.
DaqingDevil:
Gonna give him a thumbs up because he's new and I like his technical explanations. Oh, might be a 'she'.
mattsm84:
Technical or not, americantongue was verifiably wrong, and words like gonna do have a place in the language.
Time to start glorifying everything Chinese, is it? You sure you haven't been here before?
Kind of hard to beat them when they don't MAKE A FLIPPIN' SPLASH!
Keep using gonna, wanna, dunno, and I'll keep returning your papers with errors. Same in business training...it's not kosher. Those who condone it are not English teachers and my bet is, they don't have any background in education whatsoever. I suppose this is why so many Chinese use improper grammar and terms; because they're learning from charlatans.
They will continue to dominate because they are full time professionals. Franck3
it's obvious a bit off-topic, iam gonna give you all a thumps down
Just wanted to clear up the confusion that americantongue was blabbing about. Check the dictionary source. And you are not a native speaker! Bye! http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/gonna?s=t

What is the deal with you Chinese guys pretending to be foreigners, then quoting the dictionary all the time.
Thanks, 99Silva for proving my point: the "source" you're using is a Slang Dictionary.
Also, anyone who uses EF English as a source doesn't know how to seek out of use credible sources. EF is a charlatan school that teaches Chinglish. It doesn't originate from a native speaking country.
Gonna is slang and has no place is proper English that English schools should be teaching.

"Gonna is slang and has no place is proper English that English schools should be teaching."
Yeah this just doesn't make sense at all...
WHERE ALL MY BRUDDAS AT??? imma just go ahead an' say maybe a few yeaaaahs of dahminating. gonna hafta keep an' eye on deeze fellas an' wait an' see, nah mean?
I remember back in the Beijing Olympics 10m Diving for men. China was expected to get the clean sweep. Unknown Aussie at the time got the gold medal after the Chinese guy flopped it and the aussie got like a 9 or something.
