Q: How much does it cost to get a wedding dress made in Suzhou?

So there's a whole big area dedicated to bridal wear in Suzhou but have no idea of prices. A couple of mates are getting hitched next year and are considering getting their gowns tailor-made here. Does anyone have any experience on this subject?

Please try Suzhou Bridal Company. They are by far the largest company in the business.  Here is their telephone number and web address.   They have over 500 outlets throughout China.  You will need someone that speaks Chinese, however and it's a Shanghai number but they will refer you to their local Suzhou dealer.

Wedding dresses can go for a wide range depending on the quality/design etc.

My wife has been exporting a few dresses to my homecountry, the cheapest she paid 300 RMB for and the most expensive was around 1500 RMB.

Her own wedding dress was 450 RMB.

I had 6 bridesmaids dresses made in two days, and to my daughters specifications. thy cost 180 yuan/rmb each and were amazing, her wedding dress was 7 layers and cost 600. In the UK she was going to pay 22,000 yuan/rmb , In fact she paid the deposit and I told her t loose it, as it was cheaper to fly to Suzhou and have them made and enjoy the holiday as well. You need to keep a level head when in Suzhou, it will make you dizzy when it come to wedding garments. My advise is shop around, do not be afraid to say NO, many will over inflate the price as you maybe a foreigner others will treat you with respect.

A:I had a similar experience in HK. If I recall correctly, before or at the Z visa application, I had to submit ME from the ordinary HK clinic, where I explained why I need ME and I asked them to examine only necessary things (I don't remember the cost ...), and then ... I got Z stamp and when back in China, I had to complete another RP ME, which was on the employer, i.e. included in the Contract ...We've never discussed refund of payment for HK ME with my employer. Year 2013 ...I'd say, that is a regular thingy embassies around the world require, before issuing visas for LT stay in the country. "Vladimir Vladimiro-Witch ras-Putin" (LOL@your pronunciation ..) demands the same thingy before granting LT stay in Ruski.  ... Haa, 2013 was the Snowden's year. I was in Kowloon at the time of his landing .. with all these files ... I'm-Still-in-LMAO-State ... Cost for the ME in HK was around HK$ 2000/200 EUR, and ME was kind of swift, quicker and way shorter than on the mainland ... -- icnif77
