Q: How much does ocean and airfreight cost from here to N.A.?

Probably like most of us, I realize that I currently have way more stuff than I could ever bring back with me when I leave China.

Anyone know how you go about it, how much both ocean or air freight cost depending on weight and size of luggages - how long either one take?

Your best bet will be to locate a consolidator or freight forwarder on a port near you and ask him or her those questions. I do know that airfreight is priced on a combination of weigth and volume, while ocean frieght is mostly volume. For your information, shipping a 20 ft container from China to USA runs about $ 3,000 US dollars. Partial loads will be quite less.

Another consideration for you will be to box it and use China Postal Services, parcel post. It is very cheap in comparison with others, but takes 2 to 3 months to get there.

Imagine, you're an employer, who can sponsor my entry and work in China, but after my arrival to China would be found I carry some sickness, which would prevent Chinese .gov to issue a Residence permit. Rule is: Z visa should be converted into Residence permit in 30-days after entry to China. So, my advice is:"Complete ME in your home country and forward medical results to your employer".Z visa grant will follow shortly afterwards.
