Q: I am preparing to come to China, scammers?
Are there really that many scammers in China? Is no one honest? I read it scares me. I see it scares me. I sent my GF a bithday present by mail she never got it. WTF ? I would have been better to just tell her I sent a nice gift and save the money. The way I was brought up,, we give and help,, but we expect nothing back,, we want something we earn it ourself.
So is everyone a scammer??
Give me a break. There are scammers in Canada, USA and around the world. China is no exception.
I really never have run into pick pockets or scammers here.
China is really safe, maybe pick pockets but without violence.
Scammers everywhere, pickpockets and professional beggars and thieves... As mentioned though it's not a violent place so you don't really have to worry to much, BUT... Common sense is a good thing as many locals (mostly men) are envious and have prejudiced (insecurities/white envy) towards westerners... If your out late with a local lady you may get comments she may get called names etc... If you're looking for trouble it's dead easy to find here... If you get into an altercation with any locals, you will loose... Even if you kick their ass, when the cops come you loose... You give the cops any lip or guff, you loose even more... Best thing is to have a good time, try to blend in as much as possible.

my GF won't go out at night,,,,,she is afraid,,,,no way to live,,,says Chinese don't talk to strangers,, don't look each other in the eye
saw u-tube videos of CH kicking and hitting a 5 yr old gwello kid....looked like they broke his hand and crowd just walking by,,weird place
every country has liars, thieves.... but in China, you can ignore them, most of them don't know English. haha. and they think you are "huge", so you are safe!
