The only luck or something that I dealt with for teaching at hotels was from the TESOL institute. I graduated from the Tesol institute online and got three certificates. I found the Tesol Office and they offered me to teach at some hotel or at some airport. I think they were offering me both but the location was really far. If you go to a tesol institute they might be able to hook you up.

Networking.  Many hotel representatives attend networking events all the time.  They would be a great way to get your foot in the door and establish a contact list of the people you are interested in talking to.

In Dalian the American Chamber of Commerce is very active as well as the International Club of Dalian (http://www.icdalian.com/).  I have met many hoteliers at events held by both groups.

My advice would be to take it slow at these types of events.  These people get hit up with different proposals all the time and they can be a bit gun shy around people they don't know well.  So take the time to make friends first, then breach new business ideas.

Dalian is a great place and I miss it dearly.  Enjoy.

The summers in Dalian are fantastic and the air is the cleanest I have seen in China.

On the bad side, the winters can get brutal cold.  Not too much snow, but a heavy wind that blows through most of the 5 month winter.

That was supposed to be a comment.  Ooops.

Oh, the Northern girls can get really tall.  I have seen many girls there over 6'.  Of course, the guys are bigger too.  Coming from Guangzhou where everyone is small, it was quite a shock.  haha

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
