Q: If you have a degree and work alongside someone without one?

If you have a degree or are a native speaker and you have to work alongside someone who only has a highschool education at most and is not a native speaker how does it make you feel? As regards to they are in the same class that you are but you actually earned your spot.

the US military has officers and enlisted men and they seem to work out just fine.

mattaya:

Yes I know and I was in the military...difference is the law. Enlisted you work below an officer in teaching you're supposed to have education and when someone has an education and your working alongside them it just seems like they are equal or they have achieved the same things as far as education.

Never happened to me anywhere but if it does I'll be sure to analyse my feelings and post them here.

If that were to happen, obviously my employer would deem them qualified, and in that case, I'd:

A. Not care.

B. Wonder why I couldn't find a better job.

C. Respect that person if he or she does the job well.

How did you conclude that you "earned" the spot? The unscrupulous employer probably feels like a winner if he got someone with the proper degree and pays them the same as someone who doesn't have one. If the person without a degree is paid less, what is there to complain about? I'd be more worried about doing my job well, as should you.

You can always report your employer to the police for illegal employment practices.
