Q: Is it possible to Be Politically Neutral in China?

After reading some of the posts today I realize that it is getting worst here than ever before

on won side we have the Wumao and on the other we have the crusader  and the rest of us in the middle .

Some of us really o not care about who is spying on who and what they said about the others

I got caught up once or thirty times in these political saber rattlingly but now it is time to wake .

If we do not respond to these insightfully flames  they will have to go play somewhere else

maybe this is why there is no political or religion category on here

The Silva personality  is not a wu moa she is just  whatever it is,    comic relief if you like or a punching bag on a BCD

I don't care if you are Chinese ,Yank ,Australian or what ever but I hate being lied to and I hate being expected to take sides in another country that I am not at war with .

Politics and religion cause more problems than any other thing I can think of

We had a golden age a little while back and I for one would like to return to it

Hope this post makes some scene

Think happy thoughts

the very act of a foreigner being in China is seen as a political challenge by some. I am sure that there are many of people who have traveled and lived in other countries before arriving in China, just see it as a new opportunity to live and experience another culture, with an open mind. As with any life experience, there are good things and bad things about the time spent in China: it is all part of life. i have found many of the posters sharing useful information and insights. Some posters get personal, or take offence: that is life. I hope any answer i give is as neutral as possible, especially as all answers are influenced by each persons culture, whether they like it or not.  that is my 2 cent's.

sorry I don't understand your post very well . I do have a few guesses about what you might be referring to .
I think the best way to be neutral is to keep quiet . well at least it's the best I could do .

thanks guys for your answers , sorry the post was a little blury but so is the subject , I guess I would just like to see a little less politics here from both sides of the fence

sorrel:

that's understandable! I've noticed a certain change, but I've put it down to a lot of frustrations being kept in. Everyone reaches breaking point at some time. It is all about finding the appropriate outlet for it.

I think so. There are several ex-pat engineers in the area that I live. Whenever I am with them, I rarely if ever hear any politically motivated statement from them. They are different to many people that contribute to this forum. Most of them are on very highly remunerated fixed term contracts so China to them is just a game. They are happy to drink the beer, eat mainly western food in the bars, have decent accommodation provided to them, often a driver to get them around and, as a result, manage to by-pass many of the daily challenges that other ex-pats are faced with in China. If your life is a massive salary paid off-shore, massages, miniskirt spotting and lounging in the sun, who cares about politics?

happywanderer:

Exactly.  Real expats - as in those that are on an expat package, often have it pretty nice and don't feel any need to try and integrate.  So they don't.  I've even known one guy who wouldn't believe that China is communist. EDIT: Not that I have opinions on that!

Sorry Phil. I'm having trouble understanding exactly what the question is, and I'm a little confused.

As I recall, you left the site once before because Silva was a wumao, and have been attacking Silva constantly as a wumao, but now you are saying that Silva isn't a wumao? If that's the case, I agree 100%. Silva's just fun to play with.

I'm also not sure which posts are particularly political. I haven't seen anything yesterday that is different to any other day. Which ones are you talking about?

@traveler I wrote silva personality  is not , however those of whom  come from the same author most likely are . I am still trying to work out if silva is more than one person or type of medication or just that time of the month.crying

Traveler:

Possibly. The Silva personality seems to have cut back posting in recent weeks, and the other more aggressive personalities become more vocal. I think this is because the CCP is becoming more aggressive in it's attitude towards foreigners, as the deflection away from the collapsing economy.

The Silva personality just wasn't aggressive enough, being mainly there to disrupt the board, and decrease it's credibility, rather than to cause discontent. The other more aggressive personalities are out to cause division, and to enforce "Chinese characteristics" into our ways of thinking.

I don't think we can avoid the fact that all expat forums are seen as political tools by the CCP, or that other political tools (wumaos) are going to increase their "attacks" against foreigners as China's foundations become less and less stable. The amusing part is, the CCP honestly believes it is an effective strategy, and actually converts expats to the Chinese way.

Unfortunately, the expat forums often have to just go along with it, or face being closed down or blocked. That means the users just have to put up with it.

I try to be. However, when it comes to some topics like human traficking I lose it. For example, some people try to "justify" Chinese families "giving some money" for an adoption but at the same time decry Americans for "paying a lot of money" for an adoption, well, I lose it and I will call them out on it.

Paying money to adopt a child is nothing more than human trafficking. It makes no difference if you are an American who pays "too much money" or a Chinese family who pays just enough "to show appreciation". Both are reducing a human being to "chattel", no matter how much Ohchina tries to defend it.

A:Your potential employer is right! Purpose of the Medical exam before granting Z visa is to make sure, you won't be entering China in any abnormal and harmful to others condition.Few days after your arrival to China, you'll be required to complete another ME ... If ME in China will be OK, you'll get a Residence permit stamp into your book some 10-days afterwards. Imagine, you're an employer, who can sponsor my entry and work in China, but after my arrival to China would be found I carry some sickness, which would prevent Chinese .gov to issue a Residence permit. Rule is: Z visa should be converted into Residence permit in 30-days after entry to China.    So, my advice is:"Complete ME in your home country and forward medical results to your employer".Z visa grant will follow shortly afterwards. Employer is not wrong at their demand for the pre-arrival ME from your home country hospital.   -- icnif77
