Q: Minimum Working Visa Age?

With all the new changes to the visa what do you think is the minimum age that they will issue a working visa to (whatever letter it is now)

The idea is that you need a 4 year degree + 2 years working experience which would be 24?

Could a 22 year old get the visa? 23?

What do you think is the minimum age?

whatever about teaching, if you are the son/daughter of a foreign business man who can offer said son/daughter a position in a Chinese branch of the company....then there might be no lower age limit. Is there a lower age limit outlined on the visa application form?

Yes 22 or 23 year old should be fine. I think the cut off was 18 or 21 can't remember exactly. At 22 or 23 years of age and with all the qualifications you are in the clear. Good to go!

I have a 21 year old friend who has a working visa and foreign experts certificate. He finished his bachelors early as he gained extra credits and came straight to China.

She or He must be 24 unless you have a special contact, and proof of 2 years of working in this field.

There's no age limit I am aware of, it says quite explicitly that you need two years minimum post graduate experience in your field of study.

This however isn't air tight, I got my work visa 15 months after graduation at the age of 22. I am based in Shenzhen and no agencies was involved, just submitted the documents asked of me.

With these conditions I'd say 22 is about the youngest but if you get an early start at uni I could see some people being qualified around the age of 21.

It is possible to get a Z visa + residence permit at 22yo, but you need to find an employer who can make it happen. I know someone who graduated university last May, did the foreign expert certification and got a Z visa at the end of August (just under the September rule change deadline).  She did have some teaching experience as an undergrad, but not a full 2yrs.  I think they viewed the combination of other activities as compromising 2yrs of experience, so the rules seem to allow for "local interpretation".

That said, there were a number of employers who wouldn't even consider her, possibly because they didn't want to try or didn't think they would be successful.  I've also heard that in Shanghai you can't even get a work visa if you're younger than 25.  They probably don't need to bend on that because of the large number of interested applicants.  Bottom line; if you want a work visa and you're 21/22yo without a full 2 yrs of teaching experience, you are going to need a bit of luck, willingness to live in a smaller city and search harder, but it may still be possible.

I suppose no matter how old the applicant, 2 years working experience is enough to apply it.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change student visa to labourer one is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
