Q: My Chinese wife and visa to Hong Kong/Taiwan
My wife, who is Chinese, normally need a special visa to go to Hong Kong. I guess this is pretty similar for all Chinese.
Now she obtained residence visa in a third country, United Arab Emirates, and she said she read somewhere that when Chinese have a residence visa from a third country, they do not need a special passport/visa for Hong Kong.
Can anyone confirm this?
If anyone know the rules for visiting Taiwan without an approved tourist group, I am also interested in hearing about that.
She will be traveling together with me, a Danish citizen.

To confirm or deny your questions you will need to consult with the proper Immigration Authorities in Hong Kong or Taiwan.
Makes no difference who she is married to, or whose country she has a residence visa of. The fact is that she will travel under her Chinese Passport, not her residence visa.
Chinese nationals can only enter Taiwan under two spoecific conditions. As part of an officail delegation visiting Taiwan under previous approval, or as part of a tour gropu, and must stay with tour all the time. There is NO OTHER WAY !
The passport will be what establishes her travel requirements. Having a third world countries prem. resident only means she can fly to that said country without a visa
