To cut a long story short, this is approximately how it works. It may vary from city to city but this is close enough for your purposes.

1. Invitation/acceptance letter for a job

2. Notoroise degree and get criminal background check

3. school will provide copies of documents to obtain a Z visa

4. get z visa (one month duration after entry)

5. come to china

6. school will help you obtain FEC (foreign expert certificate) book

7. appply for Working type resident permit/ ABC card

8. work legally and enjoy all the freedoms afforded to other residents

Someone smarter than I will correct any mistakes but this is pretty much all there is to it providing you meet the criteria.

Hello.

thanks for answer

from school they told me to make M viza at first, because Z visa takes time. and then when I come to China, they will M visa to Z visa.

they will send me an ivitation letter for M visa, but at the embassy of my country told me , the school must write a reason for what kind of trade/business activities I'm going to go in China. how it happens, because it's a school.

lots of confusing things cool

They're lying to you, you will be working illegally and if/when they decide to stop paying you or change your contract there will be nothing you can do.

If / when you get caught there illegally it will be you facing the legal consequences, the school can't and won't help you.

That's the situation. What you do is up to you.

I'm guessing from your name that you are from South America. Sorry to tell you that there isn't going to be a work permit for teaching in your futire. They will get you here promising the world but once you are here all you will get are excuses about why they can't do it. None of the excuses will be their fault. If something goes wrong they won't help you. You are literally thrown under the bus. It's your choice but there is not going to be a z visa. You are simply from a country not approved for z visa for teaching. Sorry.

You must apply for the Z (work) visa at the Chinese embassy/consulate in your home country. Once you enter into China with the Z visa, you have 30 days to apply for the residence permit. You need your company to send you the invitation letter and the necessary documents for applying for the Z visa in your home country. If the company says to enter China on a different visa and then convert it to a Z visa in China, they are either uninformed or lying. This is a common scam. You cannot apply for a Z visa once you are in China. You will be working illegally on any other visa.

That being said, there are many foreigners working illegally in China. Some get caught, some don't. But their time is running out and they are never safe. The decision is up to you.

I'm not from America. European citizen. That's world's international school of science and planning to teach science. they told me they had experience to making Z visa before. z visa it' takes time from my country and they told me make an easy one and then will make Z visa in China. I need my degree, non-criminal records, working epxerience letters from my country. M visa, which I am planning to make it's just 3 months period. they told me too that 1 month is a prohabition period and during 3 months if there is some problems for visa, they will cancel contract.  So, I know I have no guarantee. But what can I do?  what about work permit?  the company can make this except of Z visa?

Stiggs:

See iWolf's post above, he explains how the visa thing works.

What the school is suggesting you do used to be quite common, with the recent changes and tightening of the visa conditions it's not something you hear about much now.

I don't know if it's even still possible, I didn't think so but there's a chance the school may have the connections to make it happen but consider this... if they take your passport and string you along for 3 months telling you your visa will be all good in a week or so, then the 3 months ends and you still have no passport or visa - the school keeps giving you excuses about it being with the PSB getting processed - even if you get your passport back you can't leave the country without getting picked up as an overstayer. This sort of thing happens. Schools will lie to you to keep you there, then when you have an expired visa and no options you're basically their slave.

My advice would be don't do it, but If you do decide you want to trust the school to fix your visa, ask to talk to other foreign teachers there and find out what their experience has been. The school should have no problems giving you the teacher's contact details if it's a trustworthy school.

Judging from what you have said, the very best scenario is the company brings you to China on an M visa, has you teach illegally for 3 months with no guarantee of employment, and then sends you back to your home country to apply the Z visa. But the bottom line is you will be working illegally on an M visa. If that's a risk you are willing to take, then there's not much anyone can say to change your mind.

Bottom line, Ninina, read Stiggs' few words which put in a very simple way what your future status will be under the employer ready to M visa you: " then when you have an expired visa and no options you're basically their slave"

Unless you love being dominated, know you're putting yourself in dangerous situation of which you will get off boiled up, burnt, roasted and grilled. Think of these stages, how really it looks like. The boiling part it's a sure thing. You'll be boiled like a frog without knowing it why until it will be too late.

Whatever is in your mind, plans you might believe you can achieve going this way, you are then responsible for this decision. Put more time into your endeavor, give a right focus to your plans, and seek the legal way.

Let me put it this way and probably it will give you "cold water in your face" but necessary so you can wake up to what "China is" and "this is China."

Legally you can get boiled up anyway, if the employer wants to. Easier then it will get for a scammer like the employer yours to play you fool, stupid, naive, squeezed you of everything you can give and so on.

Any employer in China will squeeze the teachers anyway. You will get skinned off aside from your juicy benefit they may have gotten from you whether voluntarily or against your will. There is no merci whatsoever from scammers to leave behind a memory of yourself before you got in China.

Here is another method the scammer do: they seduce you and if it is beneficial and short cuts to convincing you to come to China on M Visa, they will give you a fake sense of honesty such as admitting they cannot do you an M Visa for a month. You then start to believe how genuine they are yet so helpless and you would feel like going to their help. And so it seems you are behaving just now, as though you are helping them to get you trapped.

Seduced this way you will come to China and suddenly see that whatever they have promised was a blunt lie in your face. Chinese love the face jokes and they will play it at you all the time only to save theirs. But you will find yourself with little money in your pocket, and dependent, almost like addicted to what they can give you since nothing of what they promised is possible anymore. You will be like crazy to hear from them about some temporary solution to the crisis they've planned for you and those will be this deceiving that you will go down to your existential crisis like a middle or third age one.

If you have plans, real dreams, some ideals in you mind, China is the end of them all anyway. The difference is that, as long as you are legally employed, no turning around whatsover, then as icniff here on the forum likes to underline and advise with, the PSB will be there to somehow get you out of trouble. But that ONLY IF you are legally employed.

Your choice dear, your choice.
