Q: Need Techhead help - constant re-directs

Hi everyone.

I  know there are a couple of people on here who are really into computing.

I have a couple of issues.

Firstly, I'm CONSTANTLY getting re-directed to ad pages - I click on an ECC thread, and get re-directed to some crap. I'm in the middle of reading something, and I get a pop-up! I even had a couple telling me to make a phonecall to get updates! (but I'm not that stupid!)

I've run Spybot - including after an update, and it's still here. I've recently installed Chrome, and that almost seems to coincide with it getting worse. Avast hasn't stopped it.

Any suggestions.

Also - I can't access my email account, even using the saved password I have on here. I recently (Sunday) did a reset for all add-ons etc (partly cos of the pop-ups, and partly because it was so damned slow). So, now, while I can access basically everything else, I can't get into my email! Before, it was saved and auto-entered. Now it seems to have gone... (yes, checked CAPS lock, etc).

Any suggestions??

Change to Mac OS X, what is most likely not easy on not-Mac puter.

It happened to me the same (for few days only) on Mac'c Safari, but as soon as Mac's update run, that was fixed. That was some 3-4 months ago, when China-man went with new detailed Internet sweep.

Re-direction happened, because of 'Internet GWall's protection', and you might be successful with 'clearing the cashe' on your puter. I'm mostly guessing on 'reasons for re-direct', and other thing came to mind is your 'not too powerful' Broadband.

I guess, you're running 'Win8', and there are several threads on Yahoo-gle with 'prevent re-direction on Windows'. See that for instructions.

Not helping....

Win7, and it appears to be DNS unblocker.... although, I can find no hints about it in my program files, nor are they in my browser add-ons, nor do my virus scanners etc find anything!

See Yahoo-gle with 'prevent web sites re-direction on Windows' in search for few threads.

There's more on search 'prevent re-direction on Windows'. All threads are about Win7.

A:I had a similar experience in HK. If I recall correctly, before or at the Z visa application, I had to submit ME from the ordinary HK clinic, where I explained why I need ME and I asked them to examine only necessary things (I don't remember the cost ...), and then ... I got Z stamp and when back in China, I had to complete another RP ME, which was on the employer, i.e. included in the Contract ...We've never discussed refund of payment for HK ME with my employer. Year 2013 ...I'd say, that is a regular thingy embassies around the world require, before issuing visas for LT stay in the country. "Vladimir Vladimiro-Witch ras-Putin" (LOL@your pronunciation ..) demands the same thingy before granting LT stay in Ruski.  ... Haa, 2013 was the Snowden's year. I was in Kowloon at the time of his landing .. with all these files ... I'm-Still-in-LMAO-State ... Cost for the ME in HK was around HK$ 2000/200 EUR, and ME was kind of swift, quicker and way shorter than on the mainland ... -- icnif77
