Q: RE: Coal being used for heating during the winter
Does China use/plan to use any other "greener" methods to heat houses during the winter in the future, or is it sticking to a strictly coal-based plan?
Anyone have any idea how much coal the country burns through in a year?

Nuclear power! China has panls for 5 new reactors. As to the amount of coal it is really difficult to get an accurate picture. Many power plants do not only burn coal, some burn 50% waste and 50% coal, while in others the ratio may be different.
