Q: Record time for ATM card return

On Wednesday I had a lot on my mind, and withdrew some cash from a China Construction Bank ATM, and foolishly left the card in the machine which promptly swallowed it.  Four days later I have the card back in my hot little hands...unbeleivable.  Can anyone beat that record for return of a card?  It would have been three days, but the bank was shut yesterday.

CCB. It was almost instantaneous. I knew the bank manager. Maybe that helped.

...  wait, it took you 4 DAYS to get you card back?!

could have got it back the next day, OR AS SOON AS YOU REALIZED THAT IT WAS SWALLOWED if the bank was still open that day. All you had to do was go into the bank with your passport.

Unfortunately not.  The ATM was in a hotel and it was 7pm, and the machines are only cleared twice a week.  When the machines are cleared, the card is sent god knows where, which was why I was surprised to get it back so quick.  The woman at the bank was brilliant, and told me she would do her best to get it back for me as I am only visiting China.  She originally told me it could take weeks, which was why I was so pleased with four days. Not to mention the assistant manager of the hotel who gave me the address of the bank, and clear instructions how to retrieve it which earned him a bottle of wine for his help.

I can speak a little Mandarin, and didn't carry on like a pork chop.  That probably helped.

I got my back the next day. It ate my bank card at night the next morning I went to the bank they told me to come back and lunch and they gave me my card back after taking down all my information. As long as you show up quickly they'll give it back to you soon.

I wish atm s here would change to the european system of giving your card back before cash. then if you forget cash it credits it back into your account.

A:Your potential employer is right! Purpose of the Medical exam before granting Z visa is to make sure, you won't be entering China in any abnormal and harmful to others condition.Few days after your arrival to China, you'll be required to complete another ME ... If ME in China will be OK, you'll get a Residence permit stamp into your book some 10-days afterwards. Imagine, you're an employer, who can sponsor my entry and work in China, but after my arrival to China would be found I carry some sickness, which would prevent Chinese .gov to issue a Residence permit. Rule is: Z visa should be converted into Residence permit in 30-days after entry to China.    So, my advice is:"Complete ME in your home country and forward medical results to your employer".Z visa grant will follow shortly afterwards. Employer is not wrong at their demand for the pre-arrival ME from your home country hospital.   -- icnif77
