Man I've been living in China for too long now, I'm not complaining about anything, coz i learned if you were in Rome, live in the Roman way. I did so, and I start like things around here, I mad a lot of both, Chinese and foreigners friends, and I did and ate a lot of interesting things, but that is not the point, the point here is that i have to choose to live between the tow countries (South Korea or China) and building a life not just for me but also for my daughter (she is only 14 months now)
I'm confused now coz my wife didn't help me to choose between the tow countries, she just said it's fine with me As long as I'm with you...
i know it's up to me to choose where to live but, i need to know from you guys. thx

I loved living in Seoul.
But there are good and bad about both. Since you got a little baby, you should look at the job/salary you can expect and what kind of schools (and cost) for her when she gets to that age.
well it would depend on where you are from. where are you from?

well Crimochina I'm French by the nationality (my parents are originally from Morocco)
China and Korea both have rough edges, although they are not generally in the same spots. Seoul vs. Shanghai? Shanghai by miles and miles. Seoul vs. Beijing? Seoul by a few kilometers. Seoul vs. Guangzhou? Guangzhou by miles and miles, in part because of the weather and heightened friendliness of people in Guangzhou. Seoul vs. Harbin or Shenyang? It's a tie.
nevermind:
GIVE ME A BREAK. Seoul rips up ANY city in China to pieces, the internet freedom and speed alone kills Shanghai and Beijing. Subways are clean, streets are safe and exciting, people are polite....Seoul is awesome.

Nevermind, I know from your posts that you really hate China and everything here is so terrible and viciously awful. I am saddened, truly I am, to read your anti-China diatribes. If you are living here, why do you continue to live here? Frankly, given the breadth and scope of your anti-Chinese sentiment, perhaps Korea might be a better fit for you and I base that only upon the plethora of your complaints about China.
Afterall, you are a free person and you have the freedom of choice. If, as you write continuously, everything here is so awful, why do you endure it? You need not endure it, truly not.
nevermind:
I left China and I`ll insult it if I want to. Why do you spend so much time insulting the places that aren't China? You think you can just hide on this forum and insult every other nation and expect to be sheilded from criticism of China?
Why are you Chinese such hypocrites?
And if you hate hearing all of us complain about China so much YOU ARE FREE TO LEAVE THIS FORUM.
981977405:
And no, nevermind, it's not "all of us complain" as you write but just a small, select group who complain vociferously and obstreperously. I have also noted that most of those that do so, with one or two exceptions, are no longer in China, and perhaps have never been in China. Gives one cause to wonder.

Interesting how you are trying to turn the whole wumao thing back on us.
Not all of us spend all year in China. And for those who have spent years here and decided to return home...how is their opinion any less valid than those who are still in China? Actually I think think it gives them more introspect.
thedude:
I have come to the realization that you are the king of wumao's. You have been been very clever in how you subtlety insult all countries (especially the US) when deflecting criticisms of China. ..without direct insults...classic experienced wumao tactics.
You admitted in the past you went to college in Russia....I rest my case.
nevermind:
You're free not to read my comments 981. If I EVER see you admit a flaw in China I may give a sh1T about your concerns that I am too negative. Cause frankly I say more positive things about China than YOU say about countries that aren't China.
S. Korea (try the hang-gliding clubs over around Incheon..'tis a rush...)
S. Korea hands down...no comparison.
If you want to make more money and live a more comfortable life then there is only one choice.
The only exception would be your experience and ability to sell yourself big time.
Based on the where you are in your life I'd recommend South Korea. The standard of living is higher, and you'll make a little more money. If your wife is Chinese, you'll be happy to know that the South Koreans are fairly interested in learning Chinese, and that getting a nice part time job that pays a fair wage shouldn't be that difficult. Don't get me wrong, there are reasons to stay in China, like experiencing the country and its culture, and finding a way to understand its people. It's just that if I were you I'd probably feel like I'd have more immediate concerns.
I believe that I read somewhere here that your wife is a Korean national. In that case, that just might be the determining factor. Really, though, it's a bit like comparing apples and oranges.
I taught 7 years in Seoul and 2 years in Busan and brother, their is no comparison. Hands down Korea is far better. I am only here now helping my sister start up an office to make sure she doesn't get rail-roaded. So once she is up and running smoothly - back to Seoul I go!
