It depends what country you are going to, but a few unopened packets maybe okay. If you have a bag full maybe that would be considered importing and you would have to declare. Be careful though because your country may ban taking tea in due to quarantine requirements
I don't know why I bought the teas.I brought back 5 types and they seem expensive.I had bought a tea set, then later saw one I liked better, so bought it, probably never take them out of their boxes.I thought I could bring more back than $750, so I just pulled out enough receipts and did some math on my form, came to $720, I never declared anything, just the amount, Customs asked if I brought clothes back and I said nothing fit me in China, but everything I own was made in China anyway, They never checked me. I think with a jet load of people coming they don't want to.
My girlfriend just left China with a suitcase of tea and noodles. She spent hundreds on it. No problem.
Same here back to Australia. Lots of foods and snacks all sealed and nothing raw or fresh. Declare it every time, customs ask what it is and have never asked how much it costs. No problem.
I am planning on taking back 12 pressed tea cakes. They are more for looks than consumption. each is about 5 inches in Dia. and maybe about 0.5 inches thick can any of you see a problem with this ?

About 3 months ago my mom brought back a pack of ten. No one said anything.
