Well, you can't technically say it's just for foreigners, but there is a Jiu Jitsu class run by a black belt Brazilian Jiu Jitsu expert! It's open to foreigners and locals and its not a segregated class. If you can't deal with that than oh well. (!
He he, I said: "expert!"
I wish I knew where to take silva-defense. But I'm happy to think that IT lives behind one, de fence.
What do you mean "self defense"? Do you mean a law? An organization? A strategy?
Yes, it's a kind of helmet fitted with special ear defenders that blank out any "hellooooooo's" and a darkened visor that can be lowered when stared at.
If you mean, can you defend yourself... yes, you can.
But you aren't allowed to use excessive force. If you get the wrong police, or an unsympathetic crowd, you will go to jail and be liable for all medical bills.
I was lucky to find people sympathetic to my cause. EDIT: No, I wasn't lucky... I really thank God, whom I believe was looking out for me, for helping us out of there.
GuilinRaf:
Yeah, like that Australian guy found out, after protecting his wife from four men who invaded his home....
Hulk:
Yeah, that was honestly really screwed up. I feel really bad for him. In another situation, that could've easily been me.
I know some shady characters in Dongguan that sell guns smuggled in from Vietnam. But self-defense in China with a gun would probably have you put to death.
Hulk:
Yep, like I said. If you know where to look, you'll find guns all over the place.
