I know it's not really a question, but the hell with that.
For those who haven't done that already, watch that show, that's an order.

Annnnd one more show in my "to watch" list. It was there already... Right now, I try to download Fawlty Towers.
Scandinavian:
classic. did you ever watch 'Allo Allo? How is that from the French perspective ?
DrMonkey:
Didn't watch anything yet. I found about it while procrastinating real hard, I read the synoptic and some quotes, loved it. Thanks to my abysmal connection at home, downloading it will take ages.
Scandinavian:
Fawlty Towers is still really good I find, but it might not make younger people laugh. 'Allo Allo, I saw in the 90ies, when it was fresh, and found it to be pretty awesome, although after a couple of seasons, it begins to be repetitive.
I will do so again now that you mention it. In order to extend this worthwhile topic:
1. What is your favourite episode?
2. How can Reavers fly spaceships? They are supposed to be in a perpetual rape and facebiting frenzy. I assume, however, that space flight requires skill and composure.
RiriRiri:
1. Jaynestown, hands down. "The people of Canton, the man they call Jayne..."
2.
"...That sounds like something out of science fiction."
"We live in a space ship, dear."
yeah liked firefly...shame it didn't work out.
RiriRiri:
And ten years after they still can gather the crew for conventions, push petitions to reboot the show and revive rumors from time to time...
expatlife26:
Yeah it's weird how some shows get huge ratings for years but nobody really gives a shit about them.
I would bet that more people watched the average episode of Mad About You on a first airing than the total that have seen firefly at all.
But then you don't see any mad about you conventions do you?
If anyone haven't seen Breaking Bad, get started.
True Detective also is pretty awesome, you've never seen anything like it.
Samsara:
I love True Detective (particularly Rust and his metaphysics rants). I agree that there's nothing else like it.
I liked Breaking Bad, though I thought the final episode was predictable and sentimental. Have to keep American audiences happy, I guess.
Scandinavian:
True Detective Season 2 , sounds exciting. New cast, new location.
Firefly is great. Wouldn't ever skip an episode with that series. Tryin to get all the damn episodes of X-Files watched too, ut damn there's so many of them.
BBC's Sherlock is nice too, lots of very British humor, enough drama but not too much, good acting... But no spaceships shooting plasma. We need more series with plasma guns. HBO starts to diffuse The Leftovers, nice Twin Peaks vibe so far.
This one

should go on the recommendations list too. Pretty short run, but great
funny story I found out about firefly because I used to have jewel staite's AIM!
had a big crush on her when she was on a nickelodeon show and managed to find it on the early internet...messaged with her a couple times, of course only as a lame 12 year old fan talking to his "celebrity" crush.
When she got firefly sent out info to everyone on her buddy list.
I mentioned Firefly in another thread recently. Was it yours?
I've got it on a stick but never even looked at it. Sounds like it's about space.
The best show I've ever seen is The West Wing. I know the USA's political system is practically dysfunctional and even if it isn't, it's really stupid, but West Wing's the best show ever. Must declare thought that I think Martin Sheen is always great.
Anyone ever seen Gettysburg? Sheen's Robert E. Lee is quite brilliant. As is Jeff Daniel's Col Chamberlain. I mean, that whole Civil War thing.....how could it have gone on for so long? Hard to believe. Anyhow, watch Gettysburg.
