I only spent time in the south of China, around Shenzhen and Hong Kong, but the desserts there were delicious. I was wondering what are generally considered to be the best Chinese desserts
I don't know if China has any desserts of its own. All the cakes and things I see in bakeries are inspired by other foods from other countries, although the red bean and green tea flavors seem to just be an Asian thing.
The little green balls, kind of sticky, with sweet goo in the middle. yum yum.
A cold beer. It goes great following any dinner (and with it). Plus all the "normal" desserts are kinda lacking around here.
I found I liked the little loafs of bread that look like the are string. I tried some cheese cake it was OK, but not even close to an easy bake cheese cake. I found custard was good, in bowls or tarts. I did not like any baked stuff with fruit or vegies. I had a bakery pizza that kinda sucked.
Maybe next time I'll show them how to make carrot or coffee cake or butter tarts. My favourite at home is pie which is not hard to make, but I think the Chinese would prefer some cheap baking like English Bake Well Tart.
BTW I never saw anything sweeter than you Omnom.
