Q: What do you think of the lucky money thing?
My parents want to help their divorced big daughter, who has a 9 years old son, so they gave the 9 yo boy thousands as the lucky money in Spring Festival as a way to help their daughter. My big sister will keep the money for her son for paying education fee and others.
But I think may be the boy thinks it is too easy to get money and become rotten. When he just finishes university and has no experience, he may not want to work on low paid job in the beginning as he could get thousands so easy when he was a kid and teenager.
All I can see here is envy that they didn't give it to you, sorry.

I consider all money lucky that resides in my wallet (ha ha ha). With that said, if the mother explained to the son that the money was to pay for his future education, perhaps the boy wouldn't consider it "free money" to buy everything. When I was young, savings bonds were used for that purpose.
Hell, I don't know...if the boy is brought up properly, he won't be a lazy, greedy person. If he's brought up as a little emperor, he will be. It's all up to those who raise him.

Right they gift them a lot of money but say it is for his education. But the boy now thinks it is not a lot of money when gift him like 2000rmb and think it is easy to get money and think we shall gift him money, he takes everything without gratitude. He is very rude to me despite that I am very nice to him and he is violent and selfish. I do not like that boy much. I am the only one does not gift him lucky money! All my family members hate me! HA HA HA
