Q: What does the health check for a residence permit check for?

So I'm curious about something and I'm asking for friend. What exactly does the health check for a work permit check for. Does it check for viral hepatits and autoimmune hepatitis C? Does it check herpes 1 and 2 or does it check for other type of herpes?

Thanks in advance.

I've seen the checklist and also asked about this.

Assuming it's the same everywhere and nothing  has changed...

They check for HIV and Hepatitis in the blood test, I don't know if it's all types of Hepatitis though.

I'm pretty sure they don't check for Herpes or any other STD for that matter.

Who really knows? I'd say, they check for infectioues diseases, but it might be only HIV.

It takes some 3 business days to get results, i.e. 'pass or no' and they take some 2 flasks of blood.

Cost of ME is around 500 RMB, and I'd say they don't make too detailed blood research for this money.

Remember a urine test but it was awhile ago

icnif77:

How do you know that? I've never seen a lab report.

I just get 'OK' from School's rep. who was with me in the Hospital.

I am also insulin dependent diabetic and I've never been rejected at ME.

Stiggs:

A blood test will only pick up diabetes and STDs etc if they're testing for those.

From what I understand they only test for HIV and Hep, but of course with China being China it's possible everywhere you go is different.

It's easier and less costly to check urine for excess glucose (which indicates diabetes), and at glucose blood test, it's special test as you said above.

My answer was wrong. You are both correct I found after I did further research. I should have said you could potentially get this information about he blood test. You’re also correct about using urine test for diabetes. I wasn’t thinking they wouldn’t let you pass if you had diabetes. I’m ignorant of how the whole testing process and should not have answered. I was just answering from memory.

I was told of a person who get sent get sent home after the health check after the nurses found an arrhythmia. Poor guy was only early twenties

A:I had a similar experience in HK. If I recall correctly, before or at the Z visa application, I had to submit ME from the ordinary HK clinic, where I explained why I need ME and I asked them to examine only necessary things (I don't remember the cost ...), and then ... I got Z stamp and when back in China, I had to complete another RP ME, which was on the employer, i.e. included in the Contract ...We've never discussed refund of payment for HK ME with my employer. Year 2013 ...I'd say, that is a regular thingy embassies around the world require, before issuing visas for LT stay in the country. "Vladimir Vladimiro-Witch ras-Putin" (LOL@your pronunciation ..) demands the same thingy before granting LT stay in Ruski.  ... Haa, 2013 was the Snowden's year. I was in Kowloon at the time of his landing .. with all these files ... I'm-Still-in-LMAO-State ... Cost for the ME in HK was around HK$ 2000/200 EUR, and ME was kind of swift, quicker and way shorter than on the mainland ... -- icnif77
