Q: What kind of phone do you use in China?

I need a new phone. My GF in China fell in love with my iPhone 4, I said she could have it, but if there was no unlock for it when I wen home, I would take it. She still has it and its still locked, but it looks good. I had my pocket picked of my LG3D just before I went home. I don't want to spend a bundle on my next phone. What do you people use?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note.  It is too big for most people, but I love it.  It makes other phones look like little toys.  :)

But I have to admit that I have recently been seen drooling over the Samsung Galaxy 3.

Yes, I am a phone whore.  In my drawer of toys that have lost their glitter is a HTC Hero, HTC Droid & an iPhone 4.  There are a couple of older ones in there too but I can't be bothered to look at things in the drawer of shame.

Old good Nokia C3, and another nokia ICE

In the drawer stills waits HTC Pro (old one, waits for SIM-lock removal... BTW. how much it should cost? it is windows-based one)

When HTC will back to life (scratched like hell... but have qwerty + GPS), I'll put C3 as a spare (until HTC will finally die, what I expect to be in few months).

HTC Desire HD - owned maybe 28 months. been good, but lately buggy. pocket dials overiding the lock, music player skips/stutters, sometimes doesn't ring when get a call.

got my eye on the iPhone 5 due out next month. hope one of the first markets is HK !

if I dont luv it much, then SS Galaxy III looks really good too... but damn these phones are pricy ! but i guess when it is closer to a phone/camera/videocam/computer/gameboy, then the price begins to make sense...

When I travel around the world I use BB 8830 World Edition..it is kinda old but it.works in basically every country and it has all the main radios.
GSM 900 / 1800 / CDMA2000 1x EV-DO (2G)
Also Nexus One...rooted (my love.)
MyTouch 4G Slide..rooted (mistake).
Also still use Treo..loyal till the end
iProducts are for kids...the screen is horrible...no batteries and no SD cards.

For phone calls and texting in China, I use a Nokia 2322c: super basic candy-bar style phone.  If someone pickpockets that phone...I'm out a whopping 250 rmb or so.

Otherwise I also carry around my iPhone 4S.  It's locked, so really only useful when I can find wi-fi, otherwise international roaming charges out the ying-yang

iPhone, not because I'm a Chinese rich kid, but because it's useful as hell for daily living here.

I still use an old nokia as well - 7210c...But wanna buy a smartphone for traveling...

sick of dragging laptop around...Don't care about quad-core or iPhone...

As long as it's 4'', has GPS, chat and could watch movies on it...

I love Sony products...they last forever...Looks like I might get

the Xperia Arc S...around 1600 right now...anyone have it?

My GF says all phone prices should drop when the hmmm Almighty iPhone 5 is out

Okay. This is gonna make me sound stupid, but I don't have a clue. It's an old Chinese phone I got for free. Not only is it not smart, but it is barely literate. It doesn't even have color. No games, no video, no music, no camera. However, I am thinking about getting a longer string for it...

if anyone knows a fancy phone i can use that want break on the tile and concrete everywhere in china, let me know, i dont use the apple phones unless im in america where i can get insurance for theft and damage, if you drop a nice phone in china 2 meters , you have to buy another one unless its a nokia , real nokia that is,

currently use cheap phones so i dont cuss if i have to spend less than 500 for another one.

use a hosin brand now with camera and internet , not bad for 350rmb

iphone 4S... eventhough it has no flash... cant sync with more than one laptop... camera heats up if taken long video (driving blackbox)... poor battery... will get easily damaged if dropped... Siri is useless... facebook/twitter integration is useless... facetime sucks.. no money to buy music in itunes... or to spend on payed apps... useless apps like newsstand...

Still use iphone.. :(

cooter:

I've dropped my 4S on more than one occasion...no problems to report.  But I do have a nice case for it.  The battery life is nothing to write home about, but if I avoid playing games, I can make it about 48 hours before needing to recharge it.

And you don't need to buy music from the itunes store.  You can import your own mp3's from your laptop using the itunes sync software.

I'm no apple fanboy, but this thing has been a real blessing for practical uses and combating boredom (games!)

i have to charge twice a day...1) I record video of my driving using iphone - 2hrs per day.. 2)Bluetooth always on 3) Must be connected to internet always.. 4)Location service always on etc etc... :(

Agree iphone is still good.. thats why i am using it...

And about case.. i got this feeling that the phone looks more official / sexy without case.. maybe its just my feeling... i just stick screen protection film on it... no case..

Wow...recording every moment of your driving?  I'm sure you've got some great conversation material!  Do you keep any of it, or is it just for liability purposes in case of an accident?  Surely you keep it on a car charger when recording this video?

well... i dont have charger connected.. :(.. recording for liability purposes only... no discussions incase of traffic accidents... i dont keep the recording.. the phone keeps on deleting the older ones.. just assigned certain amount of memory space for the program...

I use a ZTE N600 which is crap, bought it because it was cheap, but should have really bought a Samsung Galaxy or Nexus. Serves me right for listening to my wife who was trying to save money.
