If you don't think the dance will catch on, how about the "teddy bear" outfit that Miley Cyrus/Lil' Kim wore? It's cute - cute enough for a Chinese girl?

I hope not. Twerking is not an export to be proud of. Whatever happened to demure, classic beauty? Miley Cyrus is selling herself as a piece of flesh who desperately wants "backend" action. It's disgusting. One day when she actually becomes a mature adult she'll look back at her antics in shame.

Yeah but gazillions a dollars can totally blanket shame. I'd swing naked on a wrecking ball for what she earns but only da freakz would be interested.
I twerked like crazy in 1992 to the tune of Achy Breaky Heart. It's so last millennium.

I have no idea. Sometimes the vodka is talking, after all it is Monday morning or so. But 1992 must have been about the year I started going out to clubs, and who knows what my dance style looked like. (White dude with no good sense of rhythm)
If it did ,No good would come of it. The sad thing is I know the words to Achy Breaky Hart. Just glad there are no Banjo's involved
cooter:
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've sang that song once or twice at the local KTV
Twerking is just gross. Seriously. It's repulsive as hell.
I seriously hope it never catches on in China.
I just had to google 'twerking', I had no idea what it was. Now I wish I hadn't bothered.

I was just about to Google it myself; now I don't think I will.
to the anti-twerking crowd. Don't be so judgmental and don't be concerned. Twerking is too much effort for most Chinese to do. Slow movements is the way of the people here.
I just googled it. looks like girls fkng the air with still a bit of clothes on... logical progression of the idea of dance I guess. I'll pass on it though.... sexy stuff appeals to me more in kinda a private way... like a 'secret' shared between two partners... If it is publicised it just doesn't do it for me. I went to strip clubs a coupla times when I was in my 20's because it was something us fella's just did. clubs and this kind of 'dancing' lack the intimacy that I believe gives sexuality it's strongest appeal... but don't they say each generation does weird things as it is 'finding itself' ? I use to put tobacco in my mouth and spit. odd behavior eh ?
For some girls it probably already is. Depends who you hang with. Personally I'm not a fan but still prefer it to sa jiao.
Soon. I was just in taiwan, and jeez, they can work it ( twerk it??) You gotta think its gonna work it way over here.
probably the old ladies who are already dancing on peoples square will do that soon. but no one wanna see that
