Q: Where can I buy Prozac in Shanghai?

Sometimes, I suffer from mild depression and I'm wondering where I can buy Prozac or similar anti-depressants in Shanghai. And how much would they cost? I'd appreciate any help in this matter. Thanks.

prozac is the brand name ..... you have to find the medicine with generic or chemical name  they are anti depressant....... so it much better to get prescription from the doctor. if you took with out proper monitoring you may do harm to yourself. i will leave a link for you please read that and also have a check with doctor possible a psychiatrists.... the generic name is fluoxetine for prozac.... but please check every detail before taking them. they are not OTC medicine . so it hard to find in the shops better go to hospital.

at least in my city you can buy it.  you must locate what is locally known as a mental hospital, and go visit a doctor there (5 Rmb per visit) to get a prescription.  Then buy drug at pharmacy within hospital.  Locally, Prozac is 30 Rmb per pill, generic Chinese equivalents are 5 Rmb per pill.

or you could try large pharmacy stores, but seldom have Prozac there, or if do, could be out of date.

my gf used to take it for depressive bouts around menstruation time.

A:Good question!  I'd say, if you study at Uni in China beside working full-time as an E.T. with Residence permit, you don't interfere with your full-time employment. It's your free time and you can do anything you want, with respect to the Chinese laws and customs. Have a look at terms of Z visa/Residence permit and ... ".. you cannot work (and earn monies!) with another employer ..."That's all it is! Your RP sponsor title is written on the RP stamp in your passport, I think. It's in Mandarin, so I've heard about that from someone ...At I.D.-ing by cops, they know where you work and than more details about you are just a phone call away ... and it happened in person ... LOL ... during the day-time stroll through Wulumuqi, Xinjiang, 2012/13 semester. Now under RP, you're free to surf Internet, jog, ... and study, too. I suggest, you look and ask at the Uni, you plan to study in the future. Have a detailed look at requirements for studying and attending chosen Uni.Good luck! -- icnif77
