Less common currencies are hard to change, even in Shanghai. Not sure if any bank would take them. One bet is to try banks downtown or go to the airport. Apart from that not much you can do...

Your best bet is the Bank of China at Shi Fu Guang Chang, between ICBC and McDonalds - it's the main branch in Liaoning.  If that doesn't work, you're pretty much screwed.  Another option may be trying to find some students from the UAE, I know a few are training to be pilots here.  They may help you out if they're heading home soon.

Thanks I will try that and report if they did it.

Hmmm... If the one that Andy suggested doesn't work, maybe the Mercantile Bank near the "Mariners Grog Shop."

And that also located in Shi Fu Guang Chang?

If nothing works, head for an airport on a main city close to you.  There are money exchange counters on all of them.

It's like a 50 RMB cab ride to the Airport. Its really not that close.

A:Chinese are generally pretty tolerant friendly and accepting whatever foreigners do.  I spent 15 years in China but I wouldn't say there are that many don'ts....Don't assume that many people speak English though and learn some Chinese. Don't speak much about politics unless you want to praise Chinese system.  -- Natalie363
